What are Canadians doing for the 2025 shows?  Travelling to US because PJ overrides all else or keeping with boycott on US travel - what would Eddie do?

If you stay at home the possibility that a show will be cancelled is more less for you! :-)  Till 2029 USA is a No Go Area for me! I prefer Russia or North Korea.

I was supposed to go to Houston to see Metallica and visit friends.  We cancelled and use our flight credit to go to Toronto to see Oasis instead.  First time in my life I'm actively avoiding the US.   It's really weird because prior to 3 months ago I would of never thought twice.

The real test will be the next time Pearl Jam or Pearl Jam adjacent plays the Seattle area.  I could imagine the conflict if they announced a Gorge show or something.. sigh...

    Good on ya, Zod.

I'm not mingling in enemy territory.

Had a hard time with this. Having said that…..came down for the Fll shows. The people I have encountered thus far have been extremely apologetic once they found out I am Canadian. I feel guilty as anyone could possibly be as a Canadian. Having said that, PJ had been healing my entire life, and they will be now. Please play Grievance. It is very fitting.

Had 2 Seattle, 1 Cali & 1 PJ/baseball Atlanta trip all booked and paid for non-refundable before the election. 3 down, 1 to go. Nothing but love & good times from everyone I’ve met down there so far and no troubles at the border.

So you did all three of your trips had no problems at the border before Trump got power.

Did you consider canceling atlanta after the americans started their tariff war?

No, all three were booked before the election but trips were all after he took power. Cancelling Atl wasn’t an option because of non refundable flights & baseball tickets.

Oh yeah, thanks for the correction. I wouldnt cancel non-refundable things, too. ...be a hard choice to pick between boycott and Pearl Jam

There is no reason a Canadian citizen should not come to the US to see Pearl Jam. Stop fear mongering. Go see the show!

Some people are scared of border agents and ICE.  The merits of that can be debated.

Others are boycotting and choosing to spend their money at home.  That’s not fear.

This is how I feel too based on how my other recent trips have been but I understand others feeling differently. The only reason I’m not trying to add Florida or Pittsburgh shows is the state of the Cdn $. It’s cheaper to go to Japan than to the US right now which is mind boggling.

They said “mongering” which is trying to create fear (comments like “enemy territory”) which this thread is doing a good job at. As long as your visa/passport is up to date, there should be no issues getting to shows in he states.

Why would anyone give their money to a country that is threatening to take them over? I don’t blame them for boycotting this country.

2029 will be the earliest we visit the US which is tough as we normally make regular trips to Seattle and Los Angeles every year. The positive side is we have some great trips planned to non-US locations.

It is certainly not cheaper to go to Japan from the US. But if you can get to Japan cheaper, than I highly recommend it.

OK so skip a show to make a point that nobody will notice. Just saying, Canadians really have nothing to worry about. ICE is not worried about Canadians. They are worried about people coming through Canada from other countries. Have a Canadian passport and you will be fine.

There was that unfortunate incident when the actress tried to enter from Mexico on an expired visa. That was a double oops by her.

I get the concern, but if visas and passports up to date, should be fine. The whole hate America has got to stop, guess who are American? Hint, their names are at the top of the page. And most of us on here have as much to do with the unfortunate situation we are in if not less. If anything, this is a red state tour so the disapproval should be at those states and why are they being rewarded, lol. This topic bound to be closed or moved soon anyway.

    This is inherently false.
There are more and more stories of Canadians not being allowed in. For simple reasons like being told they weren't traveling with enough luggage.
Couldn't or didn't prove that they have anchors like a hown a home, hav3 a job, Canadian bank accounts, etc..

Yes, there are reasons. It's not fear mongering - just reality.
I will not enter the USA now, for perfectly good reasons.

Flights cost more of course but everything else once there is cheaper at the moment for our $
Guy at work was just teasing me showing me online how we could’ve done Tokyo Disney trip instead of Cali and saved $ overall 😂
🤷‍♂️ We had a great time though & everything was booked & paid for ages ago other than food so wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Single digits. Most people have no issues. Yes there might be increased enforcement. Come and go see a show. No problem.

My brother and I will travel down from the GTA to the PA shows. I don't disrespect those passing up their trip, but life is too short.  I don't blame Americans for their government policy, as I would hate to be judged on the Canadian government policies.

    To each their own.

That's terribly reasonable. I may reconsider my position on this.
