Last night at the White House, the Army Choir sang Do You Hear The People Sing, an anthem about the people rising up against the oppressive monarchy and sparking a revolution. 🙌🏼 Absolutely badass. Art is resistance, and resistance is everywhere.

I hope this rising tide is for real.  Sure feels like it.

small acts of rebellion are important...
first is the video.... what follows is the outcome.

I can’t stop listening to The U.S. Army Choir singing “One Day More” from Les Miserables in front of Trump at the WH this weekend.

If you haven’t seen Les Mis, this is the last song of Act One, where the people of France fight to overthrow a tyrannical dictator.

It’s a song of resistance, rebellion, & revolution.

“One day to a new beginning
Raise the flag of freedom high!
Every man will be a king
There's a new world for the winning
There's a new world to be won
Do you hear the people sing?”

    then......

The US Army Choir director, Captain Bonnie Alger, has been removed from the .gov website as of today. This comes just days after the “Do You Hear the People Sing” performance at the WH.

I do see her on https://usarmyband.com/ensembles/command-staff

Maybe they added her back or that's the incorrect website from which they removed her? 🤷‍♂️

Commentary: There is a danger of letting what’s happening in America become normalized.

Flying the U.S. flag upside down is a symbol of distress and emergency, and our actions are to proclaim that America is in distress, and we are in a “state of emergency.”

The location and timing of the flag was strategic: it’s happening during Firefall, an event that draws thousands of visitors to Yosemite to catch a glimpse of a waterfall that is illuminated by the sun during this time of year.

Chris has always been very vocal and has taken lots of heat over the years. As a Minnesotan, we got a lot of that first hand. He used to go on the local rock station when he was on the team and that was fun to listen to him. Great to see him still fighting for what he believes.

James Dennehy, the former head of the FBI's New York office, is cheered by colleagues as he walks out after being forced to retire. Dennehy urged colleagues to “dig in” after the new administration requested the names of all agents who worked on Capitol riot cases.
