If you can, try to go to that national protest today. I will be there in NYC. Here is more info to find one near where you live.

This is a thread for acknowledging Defenders of Democracy, not the Axe To Grind thread.  Maybe some would like to start that thread and quit with the bitching here.
    Just a suggestion, of course.

Here is my offensive comment that started what you called bitching:

I am only interested in winning back the congress and White House. Moving to the far left is no way to achieve that in America , but you do you Hal..

Go see what he said in his post before I went with the “you do you.”

In the more recent post, someone posted AOC and put that bolded opinion about aoc in a new post … with facts from the wiki page on her district. I let the posts on this page support when it evolved into the usual mocking and personal attacks. When someone attacks, I join in, because that’s how they wish to correspond.

the only way to get this forum to where you want it to be is for those on all sides of the political spectrum to respect opinions and stop mocking, belittling and attacking. No one has supported my repeated requests on the forum to move towards that environment. It takes a village.

every time I bring that up I get mocked and belittled.

Great idea and thanks so much for mentioning this important day, GG!  It would be great to hear from you about how it goes in NYC, as well as from anyone else here who attends one of the many protests.  Thank you all in advance!
I'm not able to get out today.  Which really sucks because I so wish I could make it to Sacramento today.  But sometimes when you're old, getting out of the house just doesn't happen  (I won't go into detail and I'm not looking for sympathy- I'm still kicking which is all I could ask for at this point.)  So that being the case, to show my support for the widespread protests today, I'll be handwriting letters, both to Republicans in congress asking them to support Democracy, and to hardworking members of congress who are doing good things to defend Democracy (Cory Booker and Chris Murphy are at the top of that list.)

I've done what I can so far today with letter writing.  My handwriting is getting terrible, but I think they are legible.

But more importantly, MAJOR KUDOS to everyone here who was able to make it to a protest march today.  THANK YOU!
