Yeah, you’ll love it until it happens to someone you know.

Cheering on the indiscriminate firing of tens of thousands of people is really evil.

Hit the bricks then......Never thought the Left would become the party of war, censorship and not cutting back spending. But here we are. The left is scrambling right now. They have zero leadership, no plan and just complain about how bad the orange man is. They sound like spoiled children taking their ball and going home. I know so many people that have become Independent over the past 5 years including myself. Some of you might see the light one day but most of you will continue to drink the Kool aid. Get out of your bubble.

From the “it’s great until it affects me” file: shithead Jesse Waters has been a DOGE cheerleader until, oh no, it affected one of his friends, so now he wants trump to be less callous in how they cut people:

We have to cut back spending. If the dollar loses value we are alllllll screwed. Most were given the simple task of 5 bullet points of what they did last week. If you cannot answer that question good riddance. If you owned a company and people were not doing their jobs you would fire them as well. We are paying their salaries our tax money. Get your ass back in the office and get to work to help out your fellow Americans.

Hey Shadows, send me an email with your highlights of accomplishments for posting on the AMT for last week by midnight and I'll decide if it meets some invisible threshhold I'll create in order for you to keep posting here. Sound stupid? Apply it to thousands of government workers and add in the caveat of not having a clue what any of them actually even do for their job.

Easily one of the dumbest things done by this admin....yet.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Tesla paid $0 in federal income tax in 2024, despite reporting $2.3 billion in U.S. income. This information comes from Tesla’s year-end financial report, as noted by various sources including the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP). The company utilized legal tax strategies such as accelerated depreciation, tax credits, and net operating loss carryforwards to reduce its federal tax liability to zero for that year.

There is a ton of waste, and I get that they need to move quickly to effect real change as Trump will be a lame duck after the mid-terms, but it is a terrible way to treat people.  I get that they may lose their jobs ultimately and I'm sure some jobs aren't necessary anymore, but they should do it in a more thoughtful way.

When people I talk to are mad that the US sends money overseas, I just say it is the cost of being able to buy a t-shirt at Wal-Mart for $5.  Sure, USAID might send money to a poor country, but chances are we in the US are benefiting from some sort of cheap export from there.

...And even if we don't care about how we treat people (which, obviously, Elon has nothing but contempt for almost all people), it's an irresponsible approach anyway. He and his team know nothing about how the federal government runs. And at some point a hasty cut is going to make things worse in ways that he (or even those that understand) won't see coming.

seems to me the thing to do , is early retirement packages,  see where that gets you first. bring in their replacements (already there as probationaries?) they have a much lower wage rate , so savings off the jump bit dont sacrifice services

To think people believe a list of five bullet points is an effective way to assess function and worth is pretty funny. Everyone from an admin assistant to a senior scientist; it’s comical, in a “I don’t understand how work works” sort of way.

New: Elon Musk is presiding over DOGE from the Secretary of War's suite in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, using a gaming computer (plugged into a power strip in middle of the room) and keyboard with rainbow LEDs. The Wifi settings were recently changed to better accommodate personal devices. Cybersecurity and privacy worries abound.
