First time in Pittsburgh. What’re some fun things to do? Need stuff to occupy the day Saturday between shows! Was also wondering how the Polish Hill area is? Booked an AirBnB in that neighborhood because it was nice and affordable as well.
I'm just curious, what year did the fan club tickets move from "almost always" getting tickets to a lottery system? I know it's been a long time now, but I remember in those early years, it was guaranteed, or it sure worked out that way from 1996 when I joined to at least 2016 as far as I know.
Pretty sure the 2013 tour was the first lottery. Before that it was seniority - so it wasn't technically "guaranteed" but if you had a good number then it was virtually guaranteed. There was a lot of fan pushback at the time about the same people always getting the best seats, so that's why the lottery came in.

Not a lot to do in Polish Hill, but you will be just below the Strip District which has a lot to offer.

It makes sense. I saw (3) shows in 96, and (2) in 1998, and several in the early 2000's and I would run into the SAME people in the seats around me. If anyone was there, especially the 1996 shows - does anyone remember the guy dressed up as a white cow? Random but unforgettable.

Just above* the Strip!
Polish Hill is mostly residential but is sandwiched between lots of trendy neighborhoods. Walkable depending on how far a "walk" is to you. Butler Street in Lawrenceville is up the road from the Strip, which is hipstery, lots of bars/restaurants/shops.
The best touristy thing if the weather is nice is to ride the incline and walk around the top of Mt. Washington. The view is great, and there's lots of places to get a drink up there.

I was in Pittsburgh this past weekend. I brought my son to his first Steelers game and we had a blast! Heinz History Museum was a lot of fun. 6 floors of exhibits with 2 of the floors being dedicated to Pittsburgh sports. And I second Primanti Bros. We went there twice on our 3 day trip.
In what regard? it's fine but not exactly where I'd recommend out of towners stay because it's not close to much
Just asking if it’s a safe area to stay in. Flying in Thursday and flying home Tuesday to catch Pirates game. I’ll keep looking. Thanks.
Perfectly fine to stay in. It's just in a weird spot. Most of the city is connected and you can walk between neighborhoods, but Beechview is across the river, through a tunnel on the other side of a mountain lol. It's the last neighborhood officially part of the city of Pittsburgh before you hit the suburbs.
Damn, just got the word, unfufilled. This is the first time in almost 30 years (since 1996) that I didn't get the tickets I requested after 17 successful shows through the fan club system.
Got N1, but shut out of N2. First time since the lottery started that I didn’t get something I requested.
Guess I’ll have to try Fan presale.
