  • ISO GA single for either Pittsburgh.
FT - Reserved Pittsburgh nights 1 and 2 - Two tickets to each show, would trade both for a single.
Lived in Pittsburgh my entire life and want to make my home shows the best they can be. In addition to tickets I can offer...like anything I own? lol But really just about. Place to stay? Wait in the Hill District in the GA line overnight?(And if you know...thats a risk, lol) Pleeeease.
  • Hey everyone!!!  looking for some information regarding traffic around the arena in Pittsburgh.  Problem is, we haven't seen PJ since 2014 in Cincy and it's been since 2010 they have been in Columbus.  Were thinking of driving over from Columbus, however, we won't be able to leave until 4ish.  What is traffic and parking around the arena around that time?  We really want to see them since it's been so long but don't want to deal with the headache of making it there on time.  Any information anyone has will be greatly appreciated!!!!

  • Just booked the residence inn in North Shore. Is that 30 minute walk pretty safe generally? Also, is south side flats safe?
I stayed there for a Penguins game years ago (2017) and had no issues walking to and back.
Awesome, thank you. I figured there will likely be large crowds going that direction as well.

Any new realizations... would have to wait...
Til he had more time,... more time...
Time to dream,... to himself... he waves goodbye,
To himself... I'll see you on the other side...
  • Just booked the residence inn in North Shore. Is that 30 minute walk pretty safe generally? Also, is south side flats safe?
    Short answer to both: yes.

Slightly longer answer: The area between the arena and North Shore is the downtown area. Walking to the arena before the show, totally fine. It will be busy, people working or going home. It's also a pretty walk if the weather is nice as you'll walk over a bridge and see the rivers. Walking back after the show would also generally be fine, the area right around the arena will be bustling with people walking to their cars. Downtown is a bit of a ghost town after dark as it's mostly just office spaces, so just be generally aware of that and shouldn't be an issue. You can also take the T (subway) for free within city limits - there's a station right by the arena and a North Shore station a block away from the Residence.

South Side is a nightlife area. The main strip is East Carson Street, which is full of restaurants and bars/clubs of all kinds. Some can get a bit rowdy and the street can get packed if you're staying out til 2 AM, but if you're just looking for a chill place to hang there's tons of those, too. I'd say generally the closer you get to 10th St the rowdier/clubbier it gets. From 17th street-ish to the Hot Metal Bridge there's lots of chiller, hipster bars and local dives. The local news might tell you there's CRIME in the South Side, but I mean...it's no different than the nightlife strip in any other city. Just be smart.

Also if you're just going to dinner in the South Side or there in the daytime/not 2 AM then it's totally fine and not an issue whatsoever.

Assuming the band goes on around 9, I don't think getting in by showtime will be an issue. There's usually rush hour traffic that's pretty bad around 5-6. If you're getting there around 7:30/8 from Columbus I don't think traffic will be an issue. Parking isn't great around the area, so you might have to walk a bit after finding a lot...maybe 15-20 minutes. If you leave at 4 I can't see it taking more than five hours from departure to arriving into the arena.

Thank you for the information.  Would it help if I bought pre paid parking for the surface lot north of the arena?

  • Sorry if someone has already asked this. Is there camping for the rail in Pitt?
  • Anyone still holding out hope for Pittsburgh if you haven’t been picked yet? I don’t think I’m gonna draw tickets for either show at this point.

Certainly couldn't hurt, for the peace of mind if nothing else. Plus you won't have to drive in circles to find an open lot as you'll know straight where to head to.

The arena itself is right in the middle of the city - it's not an arena "district" like in some places. That means there's also street parking available which most people don't realize. When I go to Penguins games I often park on the curb for free (don't need to pay the meter after 6, usually) right next to a guy waving a flag for a $20-$30 lot. You probably won't want to drive in circles trying to find an open street spot given the time crunch, but if you're making your way to the arena you might luck out and see one you can snag. Just another thought.

There probably will be whether it is officially sanctioned or not

It's a small city, you likely won't hit heavy traffic until you're about 10 minutes away from the Paint Can
