It is not an issue that PJ uses TM, they really have no choice as TM has a monopoly. What is rubbing people the wrong way is that the band is complicit in TM's more recent selling strategy and dynamic pricing model. Fans are paying more and 10C members are not getting the best seats anymore. The best side seats that used to go to the 10C are now being sold to the highest bidder. Good luck to everyone!

Ballparks are different of course, but I would guess people are getting seats further back then they did the last time around. I do not consider the back of the floor, in any venue, to be "the best seats in the house."0

I've been to over 1,200 shows. I've sat everywhere. Certainly enough to develop a preference. I'm 5'7" and love those seats behind a pit. Not wild about a side angle view. There is not an obvious answer for which is better. Ten Club doing their best.0

Therein lies the question. Are they doing their best for the fans or the bottom line? It is great that we still get the opportunity to buy tickets without fees. But when I win the 10C lottery there is less excitement as I know TM is pushing me farther away from the stage. Because they control the ticket distribution, down to the individual seat. From what I have seen, the venue does matter in terms of seating, but let's not lose sight of what is happening. TM is auctioning off seats that used to go to the 10C. Someone that is willing to pay $800 a seat, or more, will have better seats than me. And that sucks.0 -

Same. The membership is still worth it IMHO. They resumed GA a long time ago. My seats were still great. That is not what is happening now. You have 5 digit members being seated three sections farther back of the venue, or on the back of the floor. That is so TM can sell the closer seats for more.0 -

Agree, but if you did not pick GA, you would be farther back these days. 1st world problems.0 -

Decided against NC both shows, and am only gonna go for GA/reserved in PA both nights. Good chance, I won't get anything, but do not want to get stuck w/ tickets, and Pitt is only about a 6 hour drive. Good luck everyone! Reveals coming Wed...0

If there is chance you cannot go, or if it is a financial stretch, then do not participate in the lottery. I mean this generally and not directed at you. It happens every time and 10C members miss out on tickets for those speculating from long distances away. Do not be mad when you are stuck with $400 of tickets you cannot sell or transfer.0 -

It's been said plenty of times, but I'll say it again: yes, premium is taking away good seats from 10c members. But I really believe it's the band not touring as much that's making tickets harder to get (unless you live in CA haha). An area, such as the Midwest, used to get several shows. Now there's just Chicago most of the time.People are realizing the scarcity of shows + who knows how many good years they have left and you get more ppl gutted and losing out on shows.Chicago, Aug 24, 2009

ejkirik said:I got one question, why are ten club tickets $184 a pop? That’s freakin ridiculous. What happened to the Pearl Jam that fought Ticketmaster? Where is the Pearl Jam that once made PJ shows affordable? 184 bucks a ticket is ridiculous. If you are not in the fan club tickets start at 300 bucks. Ticket sites are selling PJ tickets for over a thousand bucks each! What happened to Pearl Jam? So disappointed and not stoked for the tour. Been a fan since 1992. The Pearl Jam I grew up with and loved is gone. Bring back affordable tickets to the fan club. December 5th 2024 is the day the music died.
That also includes fees charged by the venue/TM, taxes, etc.
And yes, it includes seats in the first row, unlike other bands. Would you rather have the only way into the first row $1200, but at least you get a t-shirt, digital download of that show and a buffet with two drink tickets? That's what I see other top-level bands doing.
