No disrespect to em cuz they’re incredibly busy, but they screw up constantly and charge duty where it shouldn’t be charged. All stems from incorrectly coding the package to a category that incurs duty which it doesn’t necessarily belong to.Zod said:ekwipt said:
Most likely from Customs agents processing them under different categories which all incur different levels of duty.demetrios said:Hawkshore said:Canada Post says my ML will be delivered by end of day tomorrow provided the $33 and change is paid
What's up with the various custom fees charges? I have one for $26 & another for $36.
I guess, but most of the time we don't pay duty, we pay our provincial/federal/harmonized sales tax? I think they charge $15 to calculate the tax, so it means I paid about $13 in tax. Tax rate in bc is 7 percent PST and 5% GST, and I paid $18 in tax, the package must be valued around 150 cad?Fair enough. I've only run into Duty charges once (opposed to PST/GST which is somewhat common). It was on a pair of shoes I imported from the US. They were made in another country so I got charged Duty on them. Only package I've seen in my 30 years of stuff crossing the border that they assess duty.Oh well, I'm just happy the mystery box is going to show up somewhat soonish.0 -
Mine is still sitting in Uslaxa since 29th of November. Hopefully moves in next couple days. On side note was able to order a copy of RSD release that should be to me by Monday so I’ll take the little win for now0

here we go !Any new realizations... would have to wait...
Til he had more time,... more time...
Time to dream,... to himself... he waves goodbye,
To himself... I'll see you on the other side...0 -
Yeah shoes and clothing made outside North America are near the top of the list for highest duty charged at around 20%. Shoes they seem to flag almost every time but clothes get ignored more often. Scandinavian tobacco they’re absolutely ruthless on 😂Zod said:ekwipt said:

Yes! We got movement! Delivery expected December 23!🤞 happy festivus!
I checked the alternate tracking number on USPS and Canada Post, it seems that the UPS tracking stopped tracking once it exchanged services. It doesn’t tell me how much it weighs but the extra fees are $34.2005: Ottawa / 2011: Ottawa / 2016: Ottawa / 2022: Ottawa / 2022:Quebec City / 2024: Vancouver / 2024: Vancouver / 2024: New York City0 -
My tracking has it showing up in my city this morning. Hopefully that means it's delivered in the next business day or two. I have noticed delivery dates do get updated and postponed right now. most likely due to the backlog causing it to be a bigger slog than normal.

Yep. Checked on a few items from Canada Post. They were to be delivered tomorrow. This morning received emails that those items are delayed, till next week.0 -
I’ve had 2 scam robo-calls today about supposed stuck packages from the strike. Be careful out there people. Don’t fall for it.0

Wow, both my stuck packages, the mystery bag and another item both arrived today. They must of been so close to arriving before the strike hit

One friend says it’s a Benny and the other says it’s a license plate.. if it is a license plate, do people just display them. I’m tempted to put it on my car but I don’t know where.mikesbri said:

lol, it’s all in one bag. The square flat item is at the bottom and I believe some shirts are on top of it and some other items.demetrios said:ally12 said:My order came today, 2lbs and there is something flat and square. I wrapped it up and put in under the tree… haha

I thought it was a book. Mine was in the middle of everything and it was a license plate in cardboard. You’ve got options of what it is. So no real way of knowing until you open.ally12 said:
