They haven’t even been picketing at my local post office the last week or two.

Hopefully operations can resume and bargaining can happen to come to a suitable agreement.

Word is this Tuesday they go back to work.

I wonder if the alternate carriers are just for the more recently shipped mystery bags to Canada. I’ve had two shipped early on which cleared customs and have gone no further since ~November 19th, whereas I’ve heard other Canadians with more recent shipments arriving for some of the sizes which shipped later.

The early men's mystery bag shipments were UPS > Canada Post. I have 3 in different sizes stuck in Vancouver. 2 already pasted customs with service fee charges. When 10club shipped out the 2xl men's mystery bags, pretty much those few days they were shipped via UPS > Uni Uni. We received the 2xl men's sizes here in Canada. My wife bought something else from the 10club store and that was just delivered yesterday, from Uni Uni. That must of been shipped the same time the 2xl's shipped out. Men's 3xl mystery bags didn't ship out of 10club yet, to Canada. Those are on hold until the strike is over.

Nice I have 2 to be delivered. Would be a nice surprise to get before Christmas. I do expect Canada Post to charge duty on everything coming in now to make up on lost revenue.

Canada Post has no say what gets charged duty and what doesn't, that's all CBSA

Those Uni Uni mystery bag delivers from 10club to Canada, not a penny in customs fees / charges.

Are they like FedEx?  FedEx often does that thing where they delivery the package, then send you an invoice for brokerage later so you can't decline the package.  They're the only ones I remember that do that.  Other couriers usually make you pay before releasing the package.

Looks like there may be delays into 2025 for international mail coming in - and there is quite the backlog.
  • Good old Fifo principle to be applied starting this am it seems. First in, first out. Mine hit Canada Post the day before the strike.

Mine is with customs in Richmond, BC. Hoping that means it's closer to the front of the line.

Pacific Processing Centre in Richmond is being blocked by a bunch of other unions because the back to work legislation is viewed as unconstitutional. Most likely just a one day show of support until an injunction is ordered.

I think it's been over a year now that I would receive the shipping confirmation emails once our package enters Canada. It's best to check your order status over @ https://pearljam.com/ten-club/my-account/order-history . When you check your tracking # on the UPS site, look for the alternative tracking #, which is a USPS number. There just copy & past that number over @ canadapost.ca.

So the posties started back today and the wife said the mailman delivered mail to neighbours on both sides of us and to the people across the street and we got nothing. Hard to believe in the 5 weeks I didn’t receive any mail 😂

Processing plants only opened at 8am today so all that was delivered today is what was left at the depots on Nov 15th.

I think it's the CBSA that reviews for duty, not Canada Post.  Canada post just collects it.  I'm guessing they've got a pretty big backlog and customs will be overwhelmed.  I predict the opposite and they'll let a bunch of stuff slide.
I'm super stoked, tracking updated today, CBSA released it to Canada Post.  Usually in normal circumstances it would take a day or two to get here from Richmond, but give the backlog, maybe it'll get here before Christmas :)

I should note, I was wrong and mretzooc was right.  I'll owe just over $33 in taxes/brokerage :)

You were right about the CBSA, just unlucky to get chosen by them for taxes. Hopefully the wait and fees will be worth it 🤞
I feel like we’re due to see another Benny…

I shipped mine to Michigan. Picking up tomorrow. I never have luck with mystery boxes was secretly hoping for an extra notification that something arrived. Happy for all those that received something special. It’s pretty great to live vicariously through those posts.

Good luck to those still waiting for packages - hope some special items make their way up here.
