Our neighbors to the North have a vested interest in what happens here. They are affected by our economics policies as much as any country. Also they seem to have more of an idea on how our system works than we do theirs. They probably have a better idea than most Americans.

Not to mention that said Canadian is absolutely right. Most "western" countries are far more about the collective (as opposed to the individual) than the US is. I'm not sure how those weirdo Norwegians have such high "happiness" ratings when they're stuck paying for health care of the lazy, they can get around on foot faster than we can get around by car, and they lazily work 30 hours a week.

it's perfectly understandable that you don't know how ours works. It's not that relevant to you. But the US being one of the world's superpowers, it is in our interests to know yours. I just find it laughable American conservatives think that we don't know what we're talking about being we live across an imaginary border. A lot of us know a hell of a lot more than they do, which is why we'd never vote for a Trump and they do.
