Say what you want about Donald Trump, but President-elect Musk will really be relying on him for the next 4 years.

Not only will he be the oldest "president" to be sworn in but he will also be the most obese president in recent memory.

Not to fat shame but when was the last time we had a fat president? Roosevelt?

Clinton was definitely overweight when he won but was 30+ years younger and jogged regularly. He eventually lost a large amount of weight. Who else?

Being obese, elderly, and in cognitive decline is not a great trio.... especially for someone who does not believe in exercise and regularly eats fast food. We obviously have a lot to be concerned about moving forward, but how concerned are you, specifically, with Trump's health?

The fact is, in 2018 President Trump voluntarily requested that he be given the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and that the full results be released to the public, which they were. Trump had scored a perfect 30 out of 30.

Hi sheck. Thanks for chiming in. I guess you took me off your ignore list for this one. Yeah! I forgot it was SIX years ago that they made him take this test.

I wonder how other patients fair as the progress into their 80's six years after having to take a cognitive test. I do not imagine their cognitive abilities get better in their eight decade on this planet.

Also, you say he score a perfect 30 for 30. That would be great, if true. But I unaware of where these results can be found. Can you post these results and cite a source of the results from someone other than the person who took the cognitive test.....as that would not seem to be totally reliable. Thanks.

Obviously, you're trying to yank my chain: you twice lie by saying "they made him take this test" and "after having to take a cognitive test."
And, though a given person's "cognitive abilities" may not get better with age, that doesn't mean that their abilities do not remain constant.
Lastly, I've attached a screen grab showing the sources, the dates and the headlines showing Trump's 30 out of 30 score.
You can do all the research you desire with that info.
Now, you are back on "ignore" because you are a dishonest person and I have no tolerance for that.
Aww, sheck, get to that safe space buddy! Do they provide you with a nice comfy pillow and blanket there?

Only kidding bud. I love you and would never consider "yanking your chain."

Okay, so your "screen grabs" are not links. Now, is that on purpose? Do you not really want us to read what is in those stories or something? Because the source for those stories is none other than, ardent Trump supporter and and his former physician: Ronnie Jackson, not exactly an unbiased bastion of truth. Also, none of the articles or videos actually show the test results. Are you putting me back on ignore because you realize you goofed and that there is no proof that Trump got 30 for 30 or even passed his cognitive test?

Also, here is some information you might find useful about Ronnie Jackson:

Particularly with this asshole so close to the Oval Office. Seriously, what is it going to take for the cultists to say, “you know, I’m starting to feel a wee bit uncomfortable with the company POOTWH is keeping and maybe I should say something.” Fucking birds of a Nazi feather flocking together. All fun and games until they come for you, eh?

Who is Tommy Robinson, and why does Elon Musk want him freed?

Elon Musk’s interventions in European politics continued this week with his calls for the release of jailed British far-right extremist Tommy Robinson.

Elon Musk’s interventions in European politics continued this week with his calls for the release of jailed British far-right extremist Tommy Robinson. “Why is Tommy Robinson in a solitary confinement prison for telling the truth?” the billionaire and newly appointed adviser to Donald Trump wrote on his X platform on Wednesday. “He should be freed and those who covered up this travesty should take his place in that cell.”

A British judge in October ordered Robinson to serve 18 months for repeating a libelous claim that a Syrian refugee schoolboy had attacked English girls. In a series of tweets on Wednesday and Thursday, Musk asserted that Prime Minister Keir Starmer had failed to prosecute child rapists and encouraged people to watchRobinson’s banned documentary on migrant “rape gangs.”

    Who is Tommy Robinson?

    Return to menu

Robinson, 42, is one of the most high-profile far-right activists in Europe. His real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. Professionally, he has worked as an apprentice aircraft engineer, a plumber and a tanning salon owner. But in 2009, he emerged as a leader of the English Defense League (EDL), organizing anti-Islam protests around Britain, drawing from soccer fan groups for support. Robinson distanced himself from the EDL in 2013 but continued to hold anti-Islam and anti-immigration rallies that attracted thousands.

Why was Tommy Robinson sent to jail?

Robinson has had multiple run-ins with the law since his early 20s. In 2005, he was sentenced to a year in prison for assaulting an off-duty police officer. In 2011, he was put under police supervision for a year for fomenting a brawl among soccer fans. In 2013, he served another stint in prison for using a friend’s passport to get around an U.S. entry ban. In 2014, he was imprisoned again for mortgage fraud. And in 2021, he was handed a five-year stalking prevention order after harassing a journalist and her partner.

Most of Robinson’s recent convictions have had to do with what he proclaims is a quest to tell the truth about the nefarious activities of Muslim immigrants in Britain. He was convicted twice of attempting to film defendants as they entered court buildings, in violation of reporting restrictions designed to prevent the biasing of legal proceedings. Then in 2021, he lost a libel suit filed by Syrian refugee teen Jamal Hijazi and was ordered to pay 100,000 pounds in damages. (Robinson claimed bankruptcy and said he couldn’t pay.) The court imposed an injunction on Robinson, banning him from repeating the false claims — which he did anyway, in the documentary and on social media.

Why has Elon Musk joined the Free Tommy Robinson movement?

    Return to menu

Robinson was banned from Twitter in 2018 after breaking the platform’s rules on hateful conduct. But Musk reinstated his account after buying the company and declaring himself a free speech campaigner. Robinson now has 1.1 million followers. And Musk regularly amplifies his ideas — including when Robinson and Musksuggested that anti-immigrant riots this past summer were the fault of British authorities who opened the country’s borders and promoted a “two-tier” system of policing.

Musk’s posts in support of Robinson this week came in the aftermath of an independent reviewthat found local government agencies in the town of Oldham, England, had left children vulnerable to sexual exploitation. Although these were historical cases of abuse going back to 2005, right-leaning GB News lay blame with the ruling Labour Party, reporting that minister Jess Phillips had recently rejected a request for the national government to conduct a further investigation into the Oldham “grooming gangs.”

More broadly, Musk has been cultivating relationships with various far-right figures in Europe. He has developed close ties with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. And he has endorsed the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party ahead of elections in that country.

Shortly before Christmas, Musk met with British far-right firebrand lawmaker Nigel Farage at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Farage said he was in talks with Musk about making a donation to his Reform UK party — prompting calls for an urgent overhaul of Britain’s political donation laws. But Musk’s call to free Robinson could prove to be a hindrance for Reform UK’s attempts to distance itself from Britain’s far-right fringe.

You are being kind. 2010 was 15 years ago. Apprentice started in 03-ish? By 2010 it was already going downhill so that's when Trump started promoting his birtherism bullshit.

Remember?  If you refused to acknowledge Biden's cognitive decline, you aren't allowed to attempt to critique Trump.  He is light years ahead of Biden when he took office.

    Hi won.

This thread pertains to Donald Trump's health. Musk will be counting on him bigly over the next few years and he will be the oldest president in history, is really fat, and has already had to take at least 2 cognitive tests. I think Americans are justified to be concerned about his health.

Also, I was one of the people saying Biden was too old from the jump.  Way better choice than Fat Orange Oldster, of course.
Is it allowable by those who make up such rules for me to object to some fat ass, ancient, piece of human waste becoming POTUS?

Trump is only light years ahead of those who believe anything he says.

How Trump Plans to Seize the Power of the Purse From Congress

The second-term president likely will seek to cut off spending that lawmakers have already appropriated, setting off a constitutional struggle within the branches. If successful, he could wield the power to punish perceived foes.

Donald Trump is entering his second term with vows to cut a vast array of government services and a radical plan to do so. Rather than relying on his party’s control of Congress to trim the budget, Trump and his advisers intend to test an obscure legal theory holding that presidents have sweeping power to withhold funding from programs they dislike.

“We can simply choke off the money,” Trump said in a 2023 campaign video. “For 200 years under our system of government, it was undisputed that the president had the constitutional power to stop unnecessary spending.”

His plan, known as “impoundment,” threatens to provoke a major clash over the limits of the president’s control over the budget. The Constitution gives Congress the sole authority to appropriate the federal budget, while the role of the executive branch is to dole out the money effectively. But Trump and his advisers are asserting that a president can unilaterally ignore Congress’ spending decisions and “impound” funds if he opposes them or deems them wasteful.

Trump’s designs on the budget are part of his administration’s larger plan to consolidate as much power in the executive branch as possible. This month, he pressured the Senate to go into recess so he could appoint his cabinet without any oversight. (So far, Republicans who control the chamber have not agreed to do so.) His key advisers have spelled out plans to bring independent agencies, such as the Department of Justice, under political control.

    continues......

In 2020 people were big mad because both candidates were old and they wanted someone younger.

Then 2024 came along and very clever people stopped worrying about the age and health of the candidates once Biden stepped down.

    Good stuff.
