Judge Luttig is a true conservative and a gentleman. He makes it clear that this is not about policies, it's about the Constitution and protecting democratic norms, which is what this election *should* be about.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

It can’t be about policy. Kamala has none. But keep protecting Democracy. From the party that threw all their primary votes away, forced out the elected nominee, appointed someone the elites wanted instead of an open convention this week. But yeah, it’s all about protecting Democracy. Keep up the good work.

I think you'll find that most Biden and/or Harris supporters know that there has been bad policy positions, missteps, and bad takes. I certainly hope Trump supporters feel that way about their candidate too.
also, just because people don't see the world your way, its fucking denialism. thats a lazy take.
I’m voting simply because I think the country was run better under Trump.
Also, this is fine. But understand, Trump had no political accomplishments before running for president (other than political shit posting) and people deemed him worthy of the biggest role in the world. You may disagree with or that Harris' had accomplishments as DA, Senator or VP, but at the very least you have to see that people are willing to take that risk (like people took with Trump in 2016) because people DON"T think things were better with Trump.
"Are you better off now than you were four years ago?" was famously used by Ronald Reagan in the 1980 presidential debate and remains relevant in elections today.
Recent polls indicate that many Americans do not feel better under President Joe Biden's administration. According to a February AP-NORC poll, only 24% of Americans feel better off since Biden took office, while 41% feel worse off and 34% feel the same. These figures highlight the mixed sentiments about economic progress during Biden's presidency.
Sure, so any normal candidate would win in a landslide. Difference here is that America has had 8-10 years of Trump the politician and they don't like him. That's why he will get killed in the popular vote. If the GOP ran anyone other than DJT, this would be over.
I'm not so sure about that. The Republican share of the vote in presidential elections since 2000 has been 46.8, 46.1, 47.2, 45.7, 50.7 and 47.9. Republicans have received fewer votes than Democrats in seven of the past eight presidential elections. Trump didn't reach 47 percent either time he ran, but Mitt Romney barely reached 47 percent and McCain didn't even get 46 percent. The Republican policy agenda has struggled to command majority support in the country for a quarter-century. They have only been able to press that agenda because of the non-democratic ("small d") nature of the Senate (and to a certain extent due to gerrymandering in the House, although that's a mixed bag that can favor either party at any given moment). George W. Bush, running for reelection in wartime, barely exceeded 50 percent. In 2022, with an unpopular incumbent Democratic president, Republicans squeaked out a majority of the overall House vote in an election where they were expected to attract a "red wave." Those are the exceptions to the Republicans' recent history of being a minority party (albeit not so much a party of minorities). At some point-- and they talked about doing it in 2012 before Trump came along-- a party that consistently fails to convince a majority of the voting public to buy what it is selling has to do some soul-searching and start asking why. Maybe reflexively branding the opponents as communists or socialists doesn't resonate when people can see that they're not actually communists or socialists. Maybe white grievance and Christian nationalism are hard sells in a nation that gets less white and less Christian every day. The question, if Trump loses again with 47 percent or less of the vote, will that be enough to make Republicans try a different approach?
I mean, it is true. If people truly had a problem with it you’d really hear about it.
It happened. Kamala is polling better. It was a win for Democrats so far. But don’t act holier than thou and they're defenders of Democracy when they literally did one of the most un-Democratic things in election history.

I will say the beef with the process and claiming the people didn’t get a voice (while disregarding the fact that they did when they voted for her on the 2020 ticket, knowing that Biden could die in office, which is an implicit support of her being the next in line) really comes across as sour grapes about not liking the momentum she’s had in the past 4 weeks.
When border agents on horseback were falsely accused of whipping Haitian migrants in Texas in September 2021, Vice President Kamala Harris jumped on the bandwagon and slammed Border Patrol personnel — claiming the photos from the incident reminded her of America’s history of slavery.
“Human beings should not be treated that way,” Harris told the “View” just days after the controversy became national news. “It also invoked images of some of the worst moments of our history, where that kind of behavior has been used against the Indigenous people of our country, it has been used against African Americans during times of slavery.”
The claims that border agents whipped the migrants, who were black, were later debunked by both the photographer who took the pictures that kicked off the controversy and, later, an official Customs and Border Protection investigation.
However, Harris — who was tasked with stopping the historically high flow of migrants across the US border — never backtracked or apologized for her previous statements.
Should human beings be treated the way she thought they had been treated?
Are you really going to support Trump on the grounds that his opponent didn't apologize for something? Trump never apologizes for anything. Trump still hasn't conceded the 2020 election.Trump thinks the January 6 criminals are patriots and says he will pardon them. Give me a break.

And a lack of understanding of how political parties work in our democracy. I don’t recall there being a repub race with multiple candidates and an open convention. You know, the way it used to be? POOTWH anointed himself and intimidated everyone else to drop out. Poor Nikki Styxxx, speaking of which, should have stayed in the race until the nominating convention.
