It was a couple of days ago now but I just remember the ending being so urgent and propelling. Well that’s what I thought in my head. Can’t wait to listen again!

This song is top notch.  Love the way Ed sings this one. I'm guessing this is a Stone song.
I may be wrong but I thought I read somewhere it’s a song EV wrote whilst him and Andrew Watt were waiting for Stevie Wonder to vacate the studio whilst recording Earthling. Hence the song title

Yeh, its funny this one is getting lots of love, while I also see comments like this album sounds like Earthling 2 as a criticism.
When in reality the only song that originated from those sessions is the one people seem to love the most.

My early favourite, however I love them all. So to have this at the top is saying something. After the theatre listen I had a big smile on my face, when Stevie finished I turned to my sister and said ‘how good was that one!?’
Early favorite here as well. The guy beside me called it best song since Vitalogy. I found myself agreeing. Looking forward to more listens.
Wow, that's a bold claim right there! Given to Fly, I Got Shit, Long Road, Present Tense etc etc say hi!
Yeah, lots of good songs. It was in the moment at the cinema, and as I said I need to digest more. It just felt good then and there to get my teeth kicked in by something that really reminded me of the PJ I fell in love with. I haven't felt that way about a pj song on first listen since the 90´s.

I love all the songs you mentioned.

They weren’t waiting for him to leave, they were waiting for him to arrive. He played harmonica on “Try” off of Earthling.

I could see how people feel this way but I love it for what it is.  Actually gave me chills during first listen in the record store.

Yes! I hear so much in this one. In Hiding, the opening of The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary, Soundgarden/TOTD. While I don't think it sounds like SOLAT or Breath, I see how it is being likened to them. I just think it is more accurate to liken it to Singles era PJ. Parts/notes of the outro solo have that feel.

Then other parts of the album are so clearly Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, U2, Hendrix, and then all 11 other PJ albums thrown into a blender. A couple of notes here or there or the inflection of a few words.

I have no idea which song to hear first: Waiting for Stevie, Scared of Fear, Won't tell, Upper Hand. And no idea which one to put on top.

4 of the best songs of the last 20 years.

But yes: Every Song as loud as it can be

I'm really happy that all of the songs play out better than I thought they would after hearing the small 20 second cuts.  Can't wait to see these live.

Could have sworn I caught the Harmony (Foldback/Harmony combo) grind-riff in this while listening at the theater screening.

The only reason this song isn't on repeat for me is the sole fact that Dark Matter / Won't Tell / Upper Hand / Waiting for Stevie / Running is an absolute incredible 5 song run that is really unrivaled in their catalog.

Have to exclude Ten/Vs/No Code because those are true masterpiece albums where every song is basically perfect.
