My 10C one was supposed to be here last Thursday. Now the tracking just says it will arrive later than expected. It hasn't appeared to move since last Wednesday. At least I have the RSD and NY variant - so I have been spinning them.
Well, got mine in northern Va and the color is kind of disappointing relative to the bright red and black advertised .
but the real problem is there’s a defect on mine. The last 10 seconds of setting sun sound drunk as all hell. It’s not dust, and I always clean and de static my records prior to playing. It’s not my turntable (a brand new fluance rt 85). Other records playing just fine. The rest of DM sounds great and then the very end of the song goes to shit. Clearly a defect from pressing.
I’ll be requesting another copy. Just adds to the overall disappointing experience.
that said, I love the liner notes/design. Cool stuff.
Could be because they crammed almost 30 minutes of music onto 1 side of vinyl. Innermost grooves will not sound as good with that much...my setting sun distorts as well.
I didn't know this was a thing. I mean i clearly saw that they tried fitting quite a bit of run time on to that side b, but I've never had this experience. So as the album is wrapping up, in one of the most critical points for your enjoyment as the last few chords ring out, it just goes to shit. It's like the band on tour just deciding to drop the last 30 seconds of their closer each night and walk off the stage in silence.
How is this not understood to be a problem?
There's less space closer to the end the record so the stylus doesn't have as much time to track the groves. That means the music is more compressed the closer you get to the end of a record.
In my experience, this isn't a widespread issue with new records I've bought because most labels understand how to avoid it - not cramming 27 mins in one side or making a long album a double lP. I maybe have a handful out of a couple hundred records with inner groove distortion. It's just laziness but the label and/or band to have this happen.

Finally got mine in hand this morning after accumulated hold mail was delivered. Was really worried since they listed it as delivered to mailbox on 4/20, but it was not there when I got home on Sunday. By in or near mailbox I guess they meant with the rest of the held mail at the post office.
My 10C variant has been stuck in USPS purgatory for the past week. My original tracking said it was supposed to arrive last Thursday. But now for the last week it says it is in transit to the next facility and will be arriving late - with no estimated delivery date. Ugh.
10C red marble version delivered to me in the UK today 😊

Same. I opened up a missing mail request and that’s going on 5 days with no answer.
