Stern got Ed to open up about both his brother death as well as Chris Cornell's when he was on the show a few years ago.

If Ed's spoken about those elsewhere, that's news to me.
I think that's where many of us first learned about his brother's death.

If we ever were to get the real story about why and how Dave A was fired, it would be Howard.  What I mean is that Howard will ask the questions people are interested in hearing the answers to.  Not “how was it working with Andrew Watt” followed by the same standard answers we already have read in prior interview.
The real story? Eddie didn’t want him in the band, guy wasn’t meshing with the other band members. Story is 30 years old. Guy was a clown so he was bounced.
You are talking like Howard would be interested in anything that is not ~30 years old with this band.
Don’t listen to the interview then. Just stay on the forum and complain about something new that you don’t like. Howard’s interviews are great, excited to hear/ see it. Hoping that play a couple live songs and Eddie and Stone talk about making of Dark Matter
Log out, take some time away from Howard and catch some fresh air. Stories will be 30 years old.
I don't think his point was he won't be asking about things from 30 years ago. But more that its not a mystery while Dave A was fired. They didn't like him, they didn't;t get along, they had differing opinions on just about everything. He didn't mesh well with the band. Its no secret, so why would he ask?

I’m not sure Howard knows who Dave A is unless Sal or JD gives him notes.

That was the case for me… was it GC South Africa when he dedicated Long Road to his “brother Chris”? I know I inferred it was Cornell, but it was his literal brother. I also found out through the Stern interview that EV & CC had kind of fallen out of touch those last few years; how often does Ed open up like that? Not often that I’m aware of.

But somehow Stern only talks about himself and stuff from 30 years ago I guess.

I need to revisit that interview. I forgot the Eddie had mentioned him and CC weren’t super close at the time he passed

I'm pretty sure he at least implied that, if not outright said it. I could theorize as to why, but it would shut this thread down pretty quickly.

I don't know if they've ever come out and said "we didn't like him." But they've said things like part of Glorified G was a quote from him when he bought a gun, (in fact, he bought 2). I don't remember where I first heard it, but 25 years ago I remember believing he was into the rock star image and the rest of the bad wasn't. That's been my understanding since he left, don't recall exactly where and when I heard it all.

    Viagra?
I've never given much credit to anyone for it.
I have lots of friends I was really close to, but once they or I moved out to state, different parts of our lives (children) its harder to stay close. Didn't Chris live in France for a while?

None of us know what, if anything, happened between Ed and Chris. Speculating about it on these boards is a bad idea. I'd leave it alone.

Does anyone know if Stern's show gets replayed...like later in the day?  or on the other Sirius channel?  I'm really looking forward to this but looks like I'll be busy in the morning.

Terrible take.  Anyone can evolve and we should applaude when it happens!  Howard has clearly grown and changed since then.  He was a conservative racist a-hole in his younger years but has evolved to be a conscientious liberal.

He was never conservative or racist. Also he was making fun of "blackface". Not making fun of black people. I could be wrong but I think this was the time when Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg did a black face routine during the Friars Roast
