  • Transfer and sell hopefully will be active in a week or two. Ticketmaster is trying to sell as many premium as they can.

If there’s an Illinois resident with a ticket they want to transfer and can’t, maybe reach out to the Illinois AG office to look into this and require TM to explain how it is legal.
It's probably a loop hole where they get away with it because you're able to transfer the ticket at some point the event. The wording of the law is vague though and I think it could be applicable.
Any term or condition of the original sale of a ticket to any theater, circus, baseball park, or place of public entertainment or amusement where tickets of admission are sold that purports to limit the terms or conditions of resale of the ticket (including but not limited to the resale price of the ticket) is unenforceable, null, and void if the resale transaction is carried out by any of the means set forth in subsections (b), (c), (d), and (e) of Section 1.5 of this Act.
Does this not limit the resale of the ticket?

It’s at least an argument.  How can you sell a ticket if you can’t fulfill the sale? Moreover, a call from the AG office might cause them to turn on that transfer button regardless.  They appear to respect the law, like in the marketing material it exempted Illinois tickets from the transfer restrictions.

But random fans writing to the TM reps whose job it seems is basically to deflect every question? Not going to work.

I wrote in to TM to complain about this situation.  I got the standard stupid answer.  I then wrote back that I thought that was illegal and I might call my lawyer to confirm. Now a manager is supposedly going to reach out. We shall see.

anyone still waiting on seat assignments for wrigley? i won P1 seating both nights and got the email with seat location and they show up in my TM account but a friend of mine who also won both nights didn't get either. he emailed tenclubsupport@ticketmaster.com and they responded saying something like the show isnt until august and seating assignments would be sent out later and didnt seem to have any idea what they were talking about. he also emailed tickets@tenclub.net and got no response. he sent a second email to tenclubsupport@ticketmaster.com earlier this week with his receipt number and saying that everyone else has their seat assignments and tickets in TM account and asking what the problem is but don't think they got a reply yet. his card got charged and he has the email stating that he won the lottery but can't seem to get an answer

Just a heads up, I know that the 8/31 show was oversold (according to the Cubs) and some received notice that their tickets were not actually available. This has created issues in the secondary market as some tickets were sold there without the seller actually possessing the seats. Sounds like either Ticketmaster or the Cubs (or both) have made a mess of this.

do you know if those who received notice that their tickets were not actually available were ten club lottery winners or those who were cubs season ticket holders / bought through the MLB.com verified fan sale? a friend of mine was told they won P1 seats to both wrigley shows and got charged but never got an email with seat location or tickets in their TM account and can't seem to get a response from tenclubsupport@ticketmaster.com

Before I purchased the Boston show it said that I could resell them and after I purchased my tickets it said they are non transferable. Two people can't go with us now. Is my only option to meet people at the gate to let them in?

No you can sell on fan to fan whenever they decide to activate it

If it’s a person you know and trust you just give them your login not risking someone else getting them on fan to fan

I got a reply from TM indicating Wrigley tix will only be transferable once delivered to the MLB Ballpark app the week of the show.  Not sure if that lives up to the law but seems it’s the way it is unless someone somehow successfully challenges it.
