Posted on TM website if you click on a Chicago date: Tickets will not be available until week of the show.
That was the case last year as well but they could still be transferred. MSG tickets also say they won't be ready until three days before the show but can be transferred now.
I wonder if it has something to do with the MLB ballpark app then?
People that bought in the verified fan already are able to transfer in the MLBBP app. The issue is limited to people who got tix in the draw. A few of us were debating last week if it is illegal that this situation exists. It is definitely contrary to the spirit of the law IMO.

The button to sell works but not the one that allows you to transfer
How does this make a sense?
Sell button doesn’t work if you follow the steps. It hits a dead end.

I apologize for not keeping up on the Wrigley conversation, but I kind of get the feeling that my tickets are currently being "held hostage". When I click on the "Sell" button on the TM app, it states that the option hasn't been enabled yet. OK, understood...I guess we're all waiting for F2F to go live (if that'll even be an option for the ballparks). But the transfer option is grayed out as well.
If I can't make the show, what are my options then? Also, whether I transfer to a friend or sell outright, will I have to download the damn MLB app to do so? Is there a way to link it to your TM account? If not, how the hell is the MLB app going to know who I am? And will the person I transfer/sell to have to download the app as well? Sorry for all the questions...just frustrated. It would just be nice to not have to wait until the week of the show(s) to formalize a game plan.

You are not alone with these questions. We were all expecting the transfer button to be active for Wrigley and I know at least for me one reason I was interested in these shows was the ability to get tickets into the right hands early.
The transfer button works for MSG, and it worked for the United Center PJ shows last year.
If there’s an Illinois resident with a ticket they want to transfer and can’t, maybe reach out to the Illinois AG office to look into this and require TM to explain how it is legal. If it’s legal we just have to wait it out, but I don’t know.
And moreover, to your point, there isn’t clarity on the MLBBP app either. Most likely that will be the place that tickets are ultimately stored. How the connection is built and verified between that and the TM account, whether the email addresses have to match, etc., is not clear. Benefit of the doubt, maybe they are figuring that out now and holding off on the transfer button until it’s worked out.
And finally, people who bought in the app in first instance are already able to transfer.
So it’s a mess, and there has been zero communication.

It's probably a loop hole where they get away with it because you're able to transfer the ticket at some point the event. The wording of the law is vague though and I think it could be applicable.
Any term or condition of the original sale of a ticket to any theater, circus, baseball park, or place of public entertainment or amusement where tickets of admission are sold that purports to limit the terms or conditions of resale of the ticket (including but not limited to the resale price of the ticket) is unenforceable, null, and void if the resale transaction is carried out by any of the means set forth in subsections (b), (c), (d), and (e) of Section 1.5 of this Act.
Does this not limit the resale of the ticket?

It’s at least an argument. How can you sell a ticket if you can’t fulfill the sale? Moreover, a call from the AG office might cause them to turn on that transfer button regardless. They appear to respect the law, like in the marketing material it exempted Illinois tickets from the transfer restrictions.
But random fans writing to the TM reps whose job it seems is basically to deflect every question? Not going to work.

I wrote in to TM to complain about this situation. I got the standard stupid answer. I then wrote back that I thought that was illegal and I might call my lawyer to confirm. Now a manager is supposedly going to reach out. We shall see.

anyone still waiting on seat assignments for wrigley? i won P1 seating both nights and got the email with seat location and they show up in my TM account but a friend of mine who also won both nights didn't get either. he emailed tenclubsupport@ticketmaster.com and they responded saying something like the show isnt until august and seating assignments would be sent out later and didnt seem to have any idea what they were talking about. he also emailed tickets@tenclub.net and got no response. he sent a second email to tenclubsupport@ticketmaster.com earlier this week with his receipt number and saying that everyone else has their seat assignments and tickets in TM account and asking what the problem is but don't think they got a reply yet. his card got charged and he has the email stating that he won the lottery but can't seem to get an answer

Just a heads up, I know that the 8/31 show was oversold (according to the Cubs) and some received notice that their tickets were not actually available. This has created issues in the secondary market as some tickets were sold there without the seller actually possessing the seats. Sounds like either Ticketmaster or the Cubs (or both) have made a mess of this.
