😀 I recall, lol. I put you in my bad books after that!

I left early once, too. My daughter and her caregiver had already left and I felt lonely suddenly. It was Pemberton and the guys were just striking up Pink Floyd as I boarded the bus.

I forgive you lol. 2 more chances!

I'm not about to refer to myself as old.  Older... maybe.  Besides, you, the Pearl Jam community, have kept me young.  All I can say is, thanks for that!
I feel the same way.  Music has kept me young in spirit, but I am older than all of the band members.  Not by much at all but still.  I feel old when I witness athletes careers start and end, then another decade of athletes careers start and end . . . etc. etc. etc.  (that makes 5 decades).  In my defense, I was a sports fan from a very young age.   =)

And Mac looks a good 10 years younger than Stern did then too.

In general, older-ish people nowadays look WAAAAY younger than older-ish people did when we were kids. I think it is because we have lived easier lives.

    Ouch!

And, it will probably take you longer to heal too at your age.

    Good luck with the rehab.

I was just thinking the same thing.  It's so true and so frustrating.  Yesterday morning, our cat Annie did her often-morning thing of crawling next to me while I'm starting to wake up, wanting a bit of attention.  I reach over to pet her and my left ring finger caught her claw and sliced it open shallow a half inch.  Year ago, I would have said, "That's gonna take a couple of days to heal."  But now it's more like at least 5 days to a week.  Everything takes longer to heal these days!

I hope your achilles heals asap and well, McG!

this is more a function of the band being old; not me.

being old is (mostly) not affecting their ability to play but it sure has affected their ability to write memorable songs.

I'm so old... I remember when there was enough housing that even drug addicts could find someone to rent to us!

...and let's face it. How many of us will risk a hole in the wall or a burn in the carpet to save a life?

Now imagine you being 15 or however old you were when that came out and envisioning a holiday song that just came out in 1963.

Now you feel even older, right? YOU'RE WELCOME.

I think about that stuff a lot. Random comparisons, like Forrest Gump is roughly as old now as To Kill a Mockingbird was when FG came out.
Or the same analogy with ET and Wizard of Oz.
Kids today look at a movie like ET and view it the same way I viewed Wizard of Oz. Seems crazy, and, as this thread suggests, makes me feel old.

Totally. My brothers and I text each other examples of this stuff pretty much every day. Each example is mind blowing to me.
