    I haven't commented here because I understand Biden is following law and wasn't his decision.
    But I have never understood this argument. Just because something isn't 100% successful, we shouldn't do it?
    Isn't most of the gun thread filled with the opposite comments? If a law would prevent just a small percentage of shootings, isn't it worth it?
    There are other factors to debate with about a wall; cost, invasive, etc. But showing a picture of some climbing it isn't a big factor.

    because the wall was a joke, and nothing more than a dog whistle to get him elected. trump never cared if it got built. he only cared the people who voted for him believed it would.

    I think he cared. It was a sense of pride and like his own monument to himself to have it built. 
    Either way, showing it isn't 100% effective isn't a good argument in my opinion.

    Seems certain members of the Democratic Party also don’t understand that Biden cannot stop these funds from being used for the wall. What does AOC want Biden to do? Is it possible for him to do anything at all about this?

    The poor and homeless.  This is where Trump really shines.  He knows these people do not have a right to live and we need to weed them out.  He is so smart!  He convinces them to give him their money.  He knows the wisdom of having ultra rich people in this country.  That's about as patriotic as it gets. 

    So thank you for helping me see the light.  I have to go now and fix a high caloric breakfast of greasy bacon, Dong Dongs, and fried potatoes.  I want to look more like my new hero!

    Excellent point, but the problem with immigration are the deplorable living conditions in Central America, of which the US owns a huge responsibility by exporting guns there and importing drugs

    the point of these pictures being sent to our conservative friends is this is not the solution, because it doesn’t solve the problem. The guns create violence and poverty. People are running for their lives and a wall is going to solve it? Cmon.

    as is typical with conservatives, the basic logic of the debate is flawed. The problem is the horrific living conditions south of our border, of which the USA owns a big part of the culpability. So let’s argue about building a wall, for which we know addresses a tiny percentage of the issue, and does ZERO about the root cause.

     Until we solve the violence and poverty issues south of our border, this issue will not go away. Take that to the bank, conservatives.

    And mace, about the analogy to the second amendment. Look, that’s a smart comparison but I am not sure how comparable it is, for at least the next decade or so until we get a more balanced court.

    the problem with the second amendment argument is that liberals are boxed into a corner based on the extreme SCOTUS opinions of the last few years. Since scotus has decided there is little we can do to solve the gun problem within our borders, we are left to hoping for small fixes.

    as far as immigration goes, I’m sure most Americans don’t realize that exports of our made in the USA guns are a big reason for our immigration woes.

    Well, I have never once seen a meme of people climbing the wall and someone ask how this solves the root problems. It’s always followed with a statement like “see, you can climb a fence.”
    Nothing will solve anything 100%. But if you take Several different measures, each of which reduce the problem a little, then you’ve made a big difference. Works that way with everything.
    Im not saying the trump wall was the answer. But those arguments and memes do nothing to convinced of anything.
