  • Kirk Maltby of the Detroit Redwings had said a couple of times that Pearl Jam was his favorite band. I know Ed an Chris Chelios are friends back from when they both lived in San Diego. I also so Chris at the Detroit show in 06 Ed sang comeback and dedicated it to Chris.
Yellow Ledbetter is my least favorite song. Because as soon as you hear the first note you know it is time to say goodbye.

Patrick Rafter (off topic - the most beautiful tennis player ever) - I think I read smwhr he never missed PJ show if he was around... :)

You're correct. Pat Rafter is/was a huge fan! He was defending his title at the U.S. Open and was asked by the press if he was concerned about the pressure. He said something like..."not really, if I happen to lose early it'll be fine because then I'll get to join Pearl Jam on their tour." Btw, he went on to win the tournament. Also, I remember seeing Stone in the locker room and in the stands with Ben Harper.

I was fortunate enough to get invited to Rafter's after-party. It was awesome! The restaurant/bar blasted Pearl Jam for most of the night. There were quite a few Aussies at the party and needless to say they were going nuts to the music .

"I'm more into the indie rock scene. I think my five years in Seattle really spoiled me. My favorite band, obviously, is Pearl Jam. I'm also a big fan of Arcade Fire. They have a new album, Neon Bible, out that's pretty sweet."
Playlist: "I like 'Go and Alive' by Pearl Jam. Go back to the old school."

Trevor Hoffman (close for the San Diego Padres) was at a San Diego show and hung out backstage, I read in a newspaper article he was a big fan.
  • Seth Wescott. When asked if he was a fan he replied:
"ever since ten. i love pearl jam! in fact they were a big part of the
mix i was listening to the morning i won the olympics."

Matt and Jeff Hardy talk about Pearl Jam often in interviews. I've seen pictures of Joey Mercury/Matthews wearing Pearl Jam shirts. Shannon Moore also.

Yeah, Matt has a story on his myspace about meeting the band!
    My lips are shaking.......
  • Andy Roddick is also a fan. For some reason PJ is popular with tennis players.

u dont think Even Flow is just a really popular song that maybe Chelios knew the words to?
    lol
Chelios and Eddie are good friends. Chelios told a story on ESPN.com about meeting Eddie when he played in Chicago. He was at a nightclub and said "hey, don't I know you?" and Eddie was like "Maybe, I'm lead singer for Pearl Jam". Chelios knew Pearl Jam's songs, but that's not how he knew him. Later that night, Chelios said "Hey, you worked at a gas station in San Diego, right?" Eddie and Chelios worked at gas stations that were across the road from each other. Both had a similar childhood, splitting time between Chicago and San Diego. Chelios brought Eddie to his first NHL game in Vancouver, although Eddie isn't a fan or anything.

Rob Conway, pro wrestler, lists Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam as his favorite bands.
    Edge is also a fan.
Colorado Avalanche goaltender Jose Theodore is a fan. I remember him playing "Corduroy" on the TV show "Be a Player" years ago, which the host, former NHL'er Brett Lindros instantly recognized.
Doug Gilmour is a HUGE fan. Eddie autographed a guitar for him.
  • Todd Heap tight end for the baltimore Ravens football team gave them a shout out in an interview with the balt sun last year... i love to listen to my favorite band Pearl Jam!

Also heard an interview he did on a local NE radio station where they asked what he had in his CD player, and he said I have Pearl Jam in Japan...I almost spit out my soda when I heard that. Plus he does that concert for Jimmy Fund with Theo and Bronson every year where they play a handful of PJ covers.
Gammons also released a compilation CD in '03 or '04 and it featured Bu$hleaguer in the tracklist
