Am I the only one that doesn't like them doing purple rain?
I'm generally against covers, with a few exceptions, and this is not one of them. Unless you're Bruno Mars, you should not be covering Prince classics.
I don't disagree with you, and probably neither do most of the people here. But most of the people in the arena are not members of the Ten Club. For most of them, this is the only show they will see. And many (not all, but many) of them are middle-aged middle-of-the-road music listeners, not necessarily hard-core rock enthusiasts. Take a look at the biggest hits by many of the biggest rock bands-- they're all ballads: "Sweet Child O' Mine," "Love Bites," "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "Beth." Those are off the top of my head.
Based on my Ten Club seats, most of the people at the Chicago shows are going to be members
It's good that you have a sense of humor about it, since there definitely won't be more than 11,750 Ten Club members at the Chicago shows, but that sucks. Depending on how bad your seats really are, you might want to check and see if the Ten Club screwed up. That happened to me in Seattle once on the Backspacer tour.
My understanding is that TM took some of the good seats from premium sales and that the 10C got a huge allotment of the remaining seats.
There are lots of 10C members in the 300 sections which are high up
High up but in close proximity to the stage, I assume?

Not everyone. There are people who are in the opposite corners of the arena (far from stage) and pretty high up
Again, I don't ever need to hear "Last Kiss" again, but they've played it seven times since 2016, so they're not exactly wearing it out. Even on the 2000 tour, when it was "new," they played it less than half the time.
Say what you want about Purple Rain, the MN crowd went bonkers when the first chord was strummed and the place erupted at the end.
Ed slammed his tambourines down and the band all left the stage. No bow or goodbye. It was obviously a very special version of the song for the band and one that was emotional for them.
I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

Every show the entitled whiners are on here crying about this song or that one. Woe is me I’m a ten club member so I should get to hear every song on my wishlist. Never mind everyone else that paid to get into the show.

Or maybe it was a real crappy version so Ed slammed his tambourine down and left the stage without bowing or saying goodbye .

^. This. I went to both shows and it was so incredible just watching everyone having fun and smiling and getting along. Then go to ten club reviews and people complaining about last kiss or playing daughter and small town both nights! How dare band do that . I am just glad Ed is still with us and band is together.
I think ‘debating’ songs is part of the point, or at least happens all the time, on set list threads. I think most everyone here is happy and stoked when attending each and every show.

YIKES. might be time to log off. I see literally no one whining, just stating opinions. calm down, debbie.

Yea ridiculous. Discussing the set lists is a luxury we have because of the fact that they mix it up. Negative and positive opinion are both equally welcomed.

Agreed. Discussing/debating/dissecting the set list is apart of being a fan of the band.
