Is there anything substantial to these Euro tour rumours or is it just wishful thinking? Apologies if I missed anything earlier in this thread, need to prepare my credit card to get absolutely battered 🙈
Haven’t seen any facts that support this rumors. I belive this is all based on past history, logic, date engineering and wishful thinking…
Some will end up right on spot but most…
thats why they are rumours , if there were facts they werent rumours
Rumors have to be based on something not just because I dreamed of it ... Radio teaser, someone slipped on talked to much,- dimitri gave a hint, etc etc
Also Dimitris said on facebook europe is happenning next year

That is a fact we all know 😁
Other facts: I will get to see some PJ shows next year. I will be with my friends from other parts of the world I only get to see on tours. My bank account will suffer because of PJ shows for the 3rd year in a row.
Remember when people did not believe the 4/20/23 announcement rumour? That was fun...
So you’re saying there’s a chance !

I’d be somewhat surprised if the album is released on 2/13 but the tour doesn’t start until 5/4. You’d think they’d want to wait to release the album until closer in time to the shows to maximize hype. If I remember correctly, I believe way back before the pandemic, Gigaton was originally supposed to be released on the night of the Apollo show.
According to the latest on FB, the 2/13 date does not appear to have anything to do with the new album. So I’m going to assume that’s the tour announcement date. Whether that’s for the Europe tour, the US tour, or all of the tour dates for the entire year is anybody’s guess. But whatever it is, I’m excited!

Wasn't Riot Act released in 2002?

An annoucement on 2/13 for europe is impossible for a number of reasons.
European tours are always announced in december because of festivals (and we have at least 4 festivals dates rumours) because festivals have to sell tickets before xmas.
Also @JackD.made a great resume of the last european annoucemnts a few pares back but ill post here again.
2020:
Announcement Monday, 2 December
Public Sale Saturday, 7 December
2018:
Announcement Friday, 1 December
Public Sale Friday, 8 December
2014:
Announcement Friday, 13 December
Public Sale Friday, 20 December
There is a pattern and there is a reason why bands always announce their european tours before the us tours.
I a gree with jack that until december 15 we will probably see the announcement for the euro tour and like it was with gigaton, around mid/late january we'll see the album Announcement alongaide the first leg of the US tour
Rock Werchter just dropped 11 new names. No PJ. Not yet, at least.
Presale confirmed for tomorrow.
if the presale is tomorrow and if PJ are playing werchter they have to be announced tomorrow right?
My guess is PJ aren’t playing Werchter…. I don’t think it was ever on the more strongly rumoured lists (which included Dublin, Manchester, Barcelona etc). I think people were just assuming they were playing Werchter as historically they’ve always played there.
My instinct is this Euro tour could be an arena / outdoor headline show tour with minimal festivals. Great in terms of setlists and fan experience, though the downside would be there’s no rush to announce it….
The fact that Werchter has ZERO bands announced for Thursday and is starting to sell tickets, makes it even more likely it‘s Pearl Jam.
It‘s gotta be an embargoed act, that they believe sells tickets. And there are not many names around that would need to be hold back except for Pearl Jam.
Werchter already has some line ups. Here in Portugal festivals start to sell tickets way before they have line ups, for example Rock in Rio Lisbon has 4 day all selling and only has Ed Sheeran on one of the days, Nos Alive also selling without all headliners.
Fact is that before Christmas all headliners are announced.
Well, in the meantime there's a shiny new arena here in Tampere, just a short train ride away from Helsinki. Welcome.
And speaking of venues here, someone has booked the stadium for concerts next summer, not yet announced. One around midsummer, and one at the end of July.
AC/DC and FF maybe?
Pretty sure AC/DC is one of them. FF schedule does not seem to match.
Yep...and Roskilde is the only Scandinavian FF-date so it's not FF. I'll eat my hat if PJ comes to the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki...hell, I'll eat all my hats!
I think at least 30,000 people would attend if not more at the Helsinki Olympic stadium!

Maybe album was wishful thinking vs waiting that long for US dates on my part. I also thought bottlerock was announcing early Jan and just figured it would come out same time
2/13 announcement for a May 4th tour start sounds about right for PJ standards. No reason not to believe it.

Agreed unfortunately! Just seems like a long time to wait to announce when it sounds like they already have the entire year of touring booked. So I don't understand the point in waiting til then. It doesn't benefit the fans at all!

I would think those that are spending for the holidays and are tight for cash in January are better positioned to purchase a month later?

That makes some sense, but I have a hard time believing that that would be the bands reasoning behind it. My guess is they just want to announce tour dates around the time of album announcement and first single release. So a February announcement makes sense if the album is coming in April.
