For those of you familiar with the MGM venue, what's the easiest, most affordable approach to parking? We'll be heading up from Phoenix and crashing outside of town Saturday night before heading home Sunday morning.
@Zod@juliefer For Vancouver Island, the major "wants" are to head up near/to Tofino. Also check out the plane crash site south of there. Mostly, probably things outside of Victoria. The videos I've seen have just depicted Vancouver Island as the most beautiful place!
We enjoy hiking quite a bit. We are also planning on going to the Portland show and may try getting to some of the National Parks in Washington if weather permits.
I was hiking out at the crash site last may long, it was pretty fun. Pacific Rim National Park is 4.5 hours from victoria, so it must be 3 from Nanaimo. Technically doable on a day trip if you took the first and last ferry over, you'd have some hours there
This place is pretty amazing. Didn't realize it until I moved away once upon a time.
It is good to know that May is a good month to visit for hiking. We prefer to try most of our travels while schools are still in session. Far fewer people out there exploring during those times.
Yup. It's busiest here from late June to Labour Day. It's less busy outside of it. It's never really bad time to hike here because it doesn't snow often. Sometimes depending on the hike it can be a little muddy, but it usually doable. Unless your going up our bigger mountains, then you still need to gear up for snow/ice. Except this year. It's been unseasonably warm, and snowpack is way less than normal :(
Your welcome, Darwin. It's a beauty! Enjoy the Fjord view with a picnic 😀
Spectacular

Maybe alt nation will list the lost dogs 2 album next containing new food theme versions of PJs best songs
The new compilation will be called “Lost Corndogs”, it will be released on February 22nd (National Margarita Day).
Dirty Frank's has the best Lost Corndogs around made with exquisite home grown F@ck me in Grains by the elderly woman behind the counter in a small town. She'll even gift you with some Pearl Jam if you treat her right.
Thanks @Spunkie - this seems like a real possibility for us!
Which is to say those 2 SEA dates probably now end up being split up. 1 show being at the Gorge just before Missoula. In which case I would HAVE to pivot from Vancouver and hit up the Gorge/Missoula prior to Indy & Chicago.
Was there any post-1/16 intel dropped that I missed? Thanks.

Not to break-up the food themed song titles but quick lottery strategy question. I’m hoping to make both MSG shows but I’ll be solo (wife’s work schedule won’t allow). Should I only put in for 1 per night? Are the odds better for a single or a pair?

I believe your odds remain the same for a single or a pair. In your case I would put in for a pair for each night if you only score 1 of the 2 nights at least you have a spare to try to trade with someone for the other night. Good luck MSG is always in high demand

Not that I saw. The most recent info seemed to suggest that there will be 2 shows at Climate Pledge, 28th and 30th of May. Apparently, there was a club/theatre Seattle show possibility earlier in May around the Vancouver dates. As far as I can tell the Gorge idea is wish-casting, but who knows.

MGM has a big parking lot and charges $18 for Mondays through Thursdays, and $23 for Fridays through Sundays (for up to 24 hours). The tropicana across the street does not charge for parking but I believe the casino is planning to close in March (to make room for the new MLB stadium).

Thank you both! I was having a hard time believing it would be that simple.

The OYO/Hooters is probably the closest hotel to the arena. Well, the closest hotel that I wouldn't describe as "a place I wouldn't be shocked where a dead body is discovered and the police have no clues."

Wait, you wouldn't describe the OYO that way?
On the other hand (no pun intended), they have $1 blackjack at OYO, so I'll overlook a dead body.
One of the reasons I liked staying at the Trop. I got great rates, comp'd fees, and free parking. Yes, it's shown it's age since re-opening after the pandemic - which doesn't surprise me that it's being shuttered. The steakhouse (now Tuscan Grill) was a very good spot for a meal - especially if you got the 50% entree coupon from the Discount Show tickets booth.
I swore I'd never go in, in 2009 before the renovation but a friends uncle won a chunk of cash and treated us all to buffet there (before the renovation turned it into a spa) - the food was actually decent. It became the only spot I'd stay from after the renovation (except for one year that they sold out on my birthday - had some comp'd rooms from Vdara, so I stayed there instead). Will be missed.
Trying to figure out hotels for Vegas, in close-ish proximity. Trying to avoid a bunch of EDC-goers - it'll be vacation for me - not just concerts, so I'm trying to relax/sleep. Maybe I should check my MGM comps.

Big Trop fan here. I had an annual event there every year from 2013 to 2019 and have a lot of good memories. It was very nice after the remodel. Is it the Bellagio? No, but it's also much more affordable. As you note, after the pandemic, a lot of the amenities never reopened, but the rooms were still perfectly nice and the pool was clean and not too crowded. I have made a few mini-vacations there (driving up from L.A.) since the pandemic and I am going to make one last visit there in March before the wrecking ball.

I've done two weeklong stays (one in 2022 and one in 2023) - I am unable to make it work before they close - but I enjoyed my stay last year. I'll never forget the day I walked up to check in - two rooms, one for me and one for a buddy. Unbeknownst to us, we each were booked a suite for regular price, no resort fees. I'll miss it - especially the people that I've met. Heck, before they had Robert Irvines, they had a huge sportsbook there - and I was chatting with one of their Guest Managers while they were taking photos (kind of crowd filler in the background). Will always remember it fondly. Glad others recognize the Trop for what it is - and not focus on what it should be.

Now I get the number membership updates before this. They knew they weren’t going remind you of anything in this newsletter because of this teaser. Great stuff guys
