You can argue that’s beyond Biden, a result of the pandemic. And I wouldn’t disagree. But a lot of people didn’t like the early response to inflation. The excessive shut downs in many cases. None of that was on Biden either, but his general support of, or lack of disapproval, fired up a lot of people.
And especially the last year or more, obvious signs of decline that were ignored. The WH gas lighting and calling videos fakes that were clearly real. In the months since, several staffers have admitted to this problem.
Im not saying you should have voted for Trump and he is a clear-minded genius, but those were the biggest issues working against him coming up to the election.

I think high inflation was almost unavoidable after Covid. But I think Biden initially had a weak response and that hurt him. For several months he stated it was just temporary while the economy bounces back. Then he claimed multiple times it was at 9% when he took office. Although I never blamed Biden for the inflation, I think those responses hurt him when it came to economy polls.
Yes Afghanistan exit hurt him.
But I still think the biggest one was his signs of decline. You got called maga and drinking the kool aide here if you even questioned it. They tried to deny it and sweep it under the rug, but couldn’t deny it after the debate. That chain of events lead Trump to the win. If Biden was the same as he was 4 or 5 years ago, or if he never ran a second term and whoever replaced him went through a proper election, I don’t think Trump is in the WH today.0 -

Maybe instead of moving towards the middle Dems can win elections by first trying to do the job?

Fine if he doesn't read it. Super weird that he has zero position to at least speak on it. He couldn't at least get an abstract of it from a staffer because it deals with pushback to the biggest policy story affecting America right now? Even if it goes nowhere, at least try a bit.

I do get that my bias against feckless Dems is coloring my view of this. Its just frustrating.
