If there are no Pearl Jam shows this summer I could see Ed travel to Europe this summer for a few solo shows. And if that happens, I would LOVE some Ed solo shows this Fall in Atlantic Canada, and Maine.

Spring is here. Looks like there WERE plans for a short Spring run, but those got shelved. Matt has been jamming with 3rd Secret, Ed's staying active, but the thing that really raised my eyebrows was Stone appearing on the new Iggy Pop record. The one produced by Andrew Watt.
Which leads me to believe we're closer to a new record than we realize. Watt always has 2 or 3 records in the works, and with his wide network of clients, it's almost like the late 80's with Jeff Lynne. "Hey, while we're making this record... you wanna be on THIS record?", "Hey, come play on mine too." etc. etc.
I know they've demoing for sure since last year. The only thing I don't know, is how far along on the record they are. Watt takes a different approach than Brendan, or PJ themselves.
I started the thread with the 2016 tour as inspiration, but realized a little while ago, that it's more like 2008 at this point. Demo here, record there, quick run of 11-13 shows, a mix of outdoor venues & arenas. Just add 15 years, a few family members, and Ohana fest
There's always room for festival dates, or special gigs like
Third Man, but I feel this (or something like this) will be what we have
in store.
As always, if this isn't the plan, consider it a pitch
Prospective 2023 Tour V.9 (aka "I Want More Live Shows, F***er/I Ain't Done Yet")
1. The Twin Cities: 08/25 - 09/02/23 (one, or two nights)
Target Center, Minneapolis (ASM Global venue) - capacity: 20,500
Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul - capacity: 20,500
Minnesota State Fair (The Grandstand) - capacity: 17,000; other acts: Duran Duran, The Chicks & Brandi Carlile
Target open dates: 08/27 - 08/31, and 09/02/23 Xcel open dates: 08/25 - 09/02/23 State Fair open dates: 09/01 - 09/02/23 Somerset open dates: 08/25 - 08/28, and 08/30 - 09/02/23
- The home of movie riffing (I'm watching MST3K as I type this). Somerset's kind of a cheat, but it's Live Nation & New York's football teams are guilty of worse.
2. Milwaukee: 09/03 - 09/05/23
Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee, WI (ASM Global venue) - capacity: 18,000
American Family Insurance Ampitheater (Live Nation venue) - capacity: 23,000
Alpine Valley - East Troy, WI (Live Nation venue) - capacity: 37,000
Fiserv open dates: 09/03 - 09/05/23
AFI Amp. open dates: 09/03 - 09/05/23
Alpine Valley open dates: 09/03 - 09/05/23
- Is a return to Yieldwaukee in the works? With Chicago rumored, it's hard to say. But they booked Fresno & Sacramento last year, so anything's possible lol.
3. Chicago: 09/05 - 09/08/23 (one, or two nights)
United Center, Chicago - capacity: 23,500
Huntington Bank Pavilion, Northerly Island (Live Nation venue) - capacity: 30,000

UC open dates: 09/05 - 09/08/23
Huntington open dates: 09/05 - 09/08/23
Alpine Valley open dates: 09/05 - 09/08/23
- I don't care how often they play Chicago, I love Chicago. Love the food, love the city. Chicago!
4. Indiana: 09/08 - 09/11/23
Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis - capacity: 19,000
Ruoff Music Center, Noblesville (Live Nation venue) - capacity: 24,800
Gainbridge open dates: 09/08 & 09/09, and 09/11/23
Ruoff open dates: 09/10 & 09/11/23
- I hear Muncie is as close to Pawnee as it gets in real life. I'd totally take half a day to go find Gerry's vacation home (editor's note: I wrote this draft earlier in the month & the Pumpkins just booked Ruoff on 09/09 ).
5/5.5?. Lincoln (Help Me Spock, Help Me) aka "Carry On My Wayward Sons": 09/11 - 09/15/23
Pinnacle Bank Arena (ASM Global venue), Lincoln, NE - capacity: 14,600
T-Mobile Center (ASM Global venue), Kansas City, MO - capacity: 19,250
Pinnacle open dates: 09/11 - 09/15/23
Intrust open dates: 09/11 - 09/15/23
T-Mobile open dates: 09/11 - 09/15/23
- Coming up on 9 years, but it's plausible. If not this year, then the next. When you're going coast to coast, why NOT stop on the way? One stop, two stops, or none. Definitely adding an extra day for travel.
- I don't know much about this venue, but NM is due, it's on the way & it's Live Nation. Next stop: Vegas!
7. Las Vegas: 09/19 - 09/24/23
MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas, NV - capacity: 17,000 (2022 venue)
Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV - capacity: 18,000
T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas , NV - capacity: 20,000
MGM Grand open dates: 09/19 - 09/24/23
Thomas & Mack open dates: 09/19 - 09/24/23
T-Mobile Arena open dates: 09/19 - 09/24/23
- I had floor tix & a sweet hotel set aside last year. So did about 15,000 of us lol. Let's get a do-over before Ohana, yeah?
8. Ohana Fest: 09/29 - 10/01/23
Doheny State Beach, Dana Point, CA
- It's Ed's festival. Either PJ, or the Earthlings on Sunday?

Nice draft!
Scrap Lincoln and New Mexico.
Lock in one night in Twin Cities vs. two
Scrap Milwaukee and lock in two in Chicago.
then I think you have what’s likely if anything happens
Minnesota - 1 Chicago - 2 Noblesville - 1 Vegas - 1 Ohana - 1 or 2 (could do 2 weekends likely if PJ)
based on the 7 dates there, I’m going to suggest that though would be a lot of cross country mileage perhaps Boston gets its dates with 2 at Mansfield and maybe Seattle gets 2 at Climate Pledge to bring the total to 10 or 11, Don’t think there’s much there beyond that.
Truthfully, not confident anything happens to be honest. If Noblesville gets another booking for the 10th then we likely have our answer.
Of note, if you buy into the semi retirement which I do (think it’s weird that they split up the legs last year though maybe had to do with Europe being needed for Summer), then getting some dates in 2023 done so that there are less to do in 2024 makes sense.
see Neil Young’s 2018 and 2019 tour history for what semi retirement could look like.

I was confident about New England a while ago. Now? Not so much. Feeling like it's 2024 for them, but regardless, I'll be there (play Hartford!)
If Noblesville gets booked for 09/10 or not at all, there still a chance for a small 2018 style run, sans ball parks. Chicago is both home AND away. Ohana is too. Maybe 6 or 7 shows, with a couple 2-nighters? I have a few more versions queued (one with a pipe dream, lol).

then I think you have what’s likely if anything happens
I was confident about New England a while ago. Now? Not so much. Feeling like it's 2024 for them, but regardless, I'll be there (play Hartford!)
If Noblesville gets booked for 09/10 or not at all, they’re still a chance for a small 2018 style run, sans ball parks. Chicago is both home AND away. Ohana is too. Maybe 6 or 7 shows, with a couple 2-nighters? I have a few more versions queued (one with a pipe dream, lol).
I’d take Noblesville as a sign if the 10th falls through personally.
Agree that it’s possible for small Midwest run, Vegas, and Ohana being it as a 6-7 show run.
If they dropped the 10th though, I’d see it as the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze for them.
Remember that Home and Away was all 35k+ capacity venues I believe.
Currently, none of the rumored venues listed meet that threshold and so you’re talking about a big difference financially.
A lot easier to commit to only 7 dates when they are all ballparks/stadium vs. arenas/sheds.
It all sounds plausible but if there was a shred of evidence that they are planning anything it would be more fun to speculate.

No way they play the Target Center in Minneapolis. Just sayin
Any particular reason? Just wondering (I listed 3 other possibilities, but unsure why they wouldn't/couldn't play there).

Any particular reason? Just wondering (I listed 3 other possibilities, but unsure why they wouldn't/couldn't play there).
They've played the Xcel Energy Center in St Paul the four previous times when in the state. 2003, 2006 and 2014. They've only once played Target Center and that was before the Xcel Center was built. The Target Center is outdated and pretty crappy.
And the State Fair grounds are lovely, but I doubt Pearl Jam would play there during the Great Minnesota Get Together. Its a whole thing. As fun as it would be, and I would personally love it; I cant see that happening with the vibe that goes with what the State Fair does.

All in good fun but at the end of the day you know they are playing few dates in the northeast whenever they go out. Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Indiana? Not sure that could happen with a new record.

To be fair, a lot of that is spitballing. Geared towards their preferred promoters & Jeff's love of playing off the beaten path.
V.10 or 11 will be MUCH more streamlined. Dare I say U.S. 2018-ish.

I'm from St. Paul and have my biases.
All in good fun!
They seem to like playing outdated and crappy venues. They played The Forum and Oakland Arena last year when there are newer buildings not far away.

I think there's a huge national confusion. The Twin Cities are Two major cities with a huge sprawling metropolitan. We have alot of music venues and sports buildings. The downtowns of St Paul and Minneapolis are literally 8-10 miles from each other. The hockey building (Xcel Center) is in St Paul and was built in 2000. The basketball building (Target Center) is in Minneapolis and built in 1989 with a renovation a couple years ago.
Point being....Pearl Jam hasn't played the Target Center since 1998. The Target Center has more seating in the upper bowl than the lower bowl/floor. I do not think the Target Center meets the credentials the Ten Club would be looking for in regards to seating.
I have no clue what other cities are like or how good or crappy the buildings Pearl Jam plays outside of my area. That said, I would be shocked if they played Target Center. Shocked. and I think locally speaking, when a band does announce a show at the Target Center, there is a sigh.
At this point, I'm just assuming they have no plans to tour in 2024. If they do announce dates, great! But I'm not holding my breath... I feel like we usually at this point have some hints/nuggets of information and there seems to be none of that thus far...Hope I'm wrong!

We should probably get the 2023 tour out of the way first before we start worrying about 2024 shouldn’t we?

If there are no Pearl Jam shows this summer I could see Ed travel to Europe this summer for a few solo shows. And if that happens, I would LOVE some Ed solo shows this Fall in Atlantic Canada, and Maine.
True.
If not this year then 10000% next summer.

V.10 or 11 will be MUCH more streamlined. Dare I say U.S. 2018-ish.

They seem to like playing outdated and crappy venues. They played The Forum and Oakland Arena last year when there are newer buildings not far away.
