This. By now it cannot be any good for Ed to sing tomorrow either...
There are a bunch of rules re: insurance which have as much to do with how this goes as what the band actually wants. Touring is expensive and complicated and it’s entirely possible they are required to get a diagnosis day of in order to pull the gig.
    This makes sense.

This would make sense if you announced it the MORNING of the show, not at 5pm. This is ridiculous.

Sucks. Sorry for everyone. I hope this situation is a bit of a wake up call for Ed. I know it was an extreme weather situation that put it over the top…but the cigarette over the years certainly didn’t help. Gave him a bad starting spot with his voice/throat.

So apparently the white dude with the fire emojis & the 1000% prediction is from the opening band Shame?

My question isn't really if it's them, or if it's accurate, but IF that's the same band that Stone had to change Brad's name for back in '93? And then called the album "Shame" lol
Me too .I think  it is

I think this is the end of the two hour long shows. With his vocal issues we are probably down to 90 minute shows moving forward. Lol

Ev is kind of a perfectionist... My guess is that he could do a 75% show and that just isn't good enough for him
I don’t know.  Ed’s voice isn’t strong at all these days even when healthy.  If he wouldn’t do long term damage to his throat and can let the crowd take care of the tough parts of songs he’d be a go.

His voice was “shot” by the No Code tour.  By “shot” I mean the power/range was gone.  He learned to sing differently and overcome it, but he could have used a vocal coach to help protect his vocal chords early.  The smoking hasn’t helped either.

I'm somehow both stunned but not surprised. Whatever damage was done to Ed is serious and getting scarier with each cancellation.
Disagree... He sounded great in Oakland
Yeah, he’s been sounding great this year. Some of the ‘18 gigs he had the audience carry every single “thoughts arrive like butterflies”, but this year he seems to be throwing to the crowd just when it’s fun rather than because he can’t do it.

I’m disappointed they cancelled but I can get over that. What I’m sad about is them leaving it so late in the day to cancel, hours after the Merch sales. Loads of us queued in the baking hot heat. Similarly people camped out for GA for a few days. I really think they should do a good will gesture and give all proceeds from today to Ukraine, like they did in Prague. It will soften the blow for many of us. A good will gesture will go a long way

I mean, it’s not 1990s level strong, but this is a bit harsh. It generally holds for a 55(?) year old dude.
