Devastated. Oh how I wished… I anticipated this one so much as it falls on my birthday. Doubt the stars will align for me like that again. Would have been a perfect ending of my little PJ tour. Instead 2 cancelled shows. Vienna hurt but this one feels like a punch when you loose air.
Wish Eddie all the best and fellow Jammers that Amsterdam happens.
Would love to get a poster so my birthday is on a poster. Is that possible? Please…The worst enemies of music? Money and Mathematics. Combined with music, they both do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do. Money makes music cheap, mathematics makes it stupid and predictable.

As for the poster, the cancelled shows posters are bundled in the merchandise shop, so I am guessing the same will happen for these cancelled gigs.

Wife and I flew in from Nashville for Vienna and Prague shows; were super excited about seeing Pearl Jam overseas and certainly sad about both cancellations. Still, we are so grateful that Pearl Jam gave us the motivation to come see Vienna, Prague and Budapest (ironically at one point we had tickets to Krakow and Budapest! but had to change dates/timing). These cities are wonderful. Sorry to all about the disappointment -- soak in this cool city and see you at the next show when Ed's voice is better.I gather speed . . . And what we know is that we are living in strange times. We are living at a time when we are affected by a global pandemic as well as being beyond the tipping point that affects the global climate.
For me… personally, I feel bad for the fans who have anticipated a brief 2 hours to escape this reality.
In this case, it is the health of persons we love. We don’t personally know any of them, but we understand they are human, just as we are.
Why can’t we just wish them back to health and say, ‘Take care, dude. I’ll catch you next time around’.
I know it is tough when so much expense, time and effort went into the planning, but, it could be worse. It could be a world without this.
My take would be to just spend your time enjoying where you are, here and now. You have friends around you and maybe you are in a foreign land. Take advantage of that. You will probably run across folks that will become lifelong friends that you would have never met if these circumstances did not occur.
Lastly, for Eddie. Take care dude. You know, we ain’t growing any younger and our old ass bodies ain’t what they used to be. Listen to your doctors. If they tell you that you need to shut the fuck up for a while, then shut the fuck up for a while. We’ll catch you down the road.Post edited by browngw on0 -
While admittedly the smoking certainly didn’t help, the dirty air from the wildfires didn’t do his voice any favors and affects your throat more than some people seem to realize. My daughter lives in Colorado and we visited them a few years ago when they were having really bad fires out there. My throat hurt like crazy for a week after that, and was still scratchy for a while after that. I am a runner and my throat was so sore that I had to stop running for a while until it started to feel better.0

With the temperatures only getting higher in the future, should we expect less outdoor shows? (or less summer touring)

Here on Vancouver Island, we do get smoke sometimes, but most of the time our weather blows from west to east of the pacific, so if there's forest fires it usually pushes smoke to the interior of BC and into Alberta. Only those odd times where the wind stops, do we get too smoky here.
They could do June tour here, they'd be fine. Annual June tour of Vancouver Island. It'd be epic. Tour Destination event0 -

They fly into a city via private jet, stay in a luxury hotel, eat well, sleep in if they choose to, go to sound check, work/play music for a couple of hours and repeat, how's is that physically grueling? If you're talking about the roadies then I get it but as for the actual musicians they're working less than the average person is per day, it's not they're working a 8-10 hr shift, I'm definitely missing something1993: Portland, OR (09/06), Seattle, WA (12/07), Seattle, WA (12/08), Seattle, WA (12/09) // 1995: Seattle, WA (02/05) // 1996: Seattle, WA (09/16) // 1997: Oakland, CA (11/19) // 1998: Portland, OR (07/18), Seattle, WA (07/21), Seattle, WA (07/22) // 2000: Bellingham, WA (05/10), Vancouver, BC (05/11), Mountain View, CA (10/31), Portland, OR (11/02), Seattle, WA (11/05), Seattle, WA (11/06) // 2002: Seattle, WA (12/05), Seattle, WA (12/06), Seattle, WA (12/08), Seattle, WA (12/09) // 2003: Vancouver, BC (05/30), Seattle, WA (10/22) // 2005: Quincy, WA (09/01) // 2006: Portland, OR (07/20), Quincy, WA (07/22), Quincy, WA (07/23) // 2009: Berlin, DE (08/15), Seattle, WA (9/21), Seattle, WA (9/22) // 2010: Berlin, DE (06/30) // 2013: Los Angeles, CA (11/23), Los Angeles, CA (11/24), Portland, OR (11/29), Spokane, WA (11/30) // 2018: Seattle, WA (08/10) // 2022: Seattle, WA (02/22), New York, NY (09/10), New York, NY (09/11), Camden, NJ (09/14), Denver, CO (09/22) // 2023: St. Paul, MN (08/31), St. Paul, MN (09/02) // 2024: Portland, OR (05/10), Sacramento, CA (05/13), Los Angeles, CA (05/21), Los Angeles, CA (05/22), Seattle, WA (05/28), Missoula, MT (8/22), Indianapolis, IN (8/26), Chicago, IL (8/29), Chicago, IL (8/31), New York, NY (9/03), New York, NY (9/04), Philadelphia, PA (9/07), Philadelphia, PA (9/09), Baltimore, MD (9/12), Boston, MA (9/15), Boston, MA (9/17), Dana Point, CA (9/27), Dana Point, CA (9/29) // 2025: Hollywood, FL (4/24), Hollywood, FL (4/26), Nashville, TN (5/06), Nashville, TN (5/08), Raleigh, NC (5/11), Raleigh, NC (5/13), Pittsburgh, PA (5/16), Pittsburgh, PA (5/18)0

I don’t get the grumbling on short(er) sets… they are taking support out. Like when MMJ toured as support or X did too. Been spoiled with no support on the last few outings but giving a shot to other bands is fine with me.14.10.2000 Houston, 09.09.2006 Marseilles, 11.09.2006 Paris, 18.06.2007 London, 17.08.2009 Manchester, 18.08.2009 London, 22.06.2010 Dublin, 23.06.2010 Belfast, 25.06.2010 London0

I said hi to one of the brothers from White Reaper at the train station in Prague approx. 1 hour before the announcement was made. I asked him was it going again, and he said "We'll see what happens." I felt like a dick, because I'm sure I was probably the 500th person to ask him today.Dublin 2006
