I feel bad for everyone involved..!

I think we all need the Amsterdam shows to take place now, just to know Ed is ok! 🤞

And btw the ENTIRE band seemed to have a fucking blast at the shows I attended!

A lot of wild speculation here. As the band gets older, the physical toll of touring and how they respond to it will be different. My guess — which is only a guess — is the abbreviated show length was one measure to try and protect everyone's health and sustain them over the course of this tour and make it possible for them to continue touring in the future. Who knows what the deal is with Ed's voice, really. If the official reason is damage from the Paris show, okay. I hope it's nothing more than that, and can be treated, and he recovers.

All the "mailing it in/other members are tired of it/whatever" speculation doesn't really help anyone and it comes entirely from a place of projected disappointment/frustration. I really hope the fall US leg goes well and that this isn't their last tour, because they really didn't hit many markets where they're beloved, and I selfishly would love a chance to see them at least once or twice more. If for whatever reason this is their last tour, I reckon some folks will feel pretty dumb for bitching about setlist length and variety when there are no more shows to attend, at all.

Maybe best to assume the best intentions of the band/their team, hope for the best for their health, and enjoy the opportunities you do get to see them.

I guess I'm missing something because I don't understand when people say physical toll when describing a band that tours. They fly into a city via private jet, stay in a luxury hotel, eat well, sleep in if they choose to, go to sound check, work/play music for a couple of hours and repeat, how's is that physically grueling? If you're talking about the roadies then I get it but as for the actual musicians they're working less than the average person is per day, it's not they're working a 8-10 hr shift, I'm definitely missing something

Probably paid too much to cancel that one.
Just like adding a festival in Louisville which, now makes my St.Louis show the 3rd in 3 days(when was the last time they played 3 shows in 3 days???) Was it for a big festival pay day?🤔 There was absolutely no resson to add Louisville!

    Agreed

I think if I got to a place where I assumed the worst intentions of this band or its individual members, I would probably stop paying dues to be in the fan club,

    Right?

At 45yo, having a bass slung over my shoulder & playing it for 1.5 hours multiple nights a week is no walk in the park, and that's just from the comfort of my own home.

I mean, no one is claiming its ditch digging, but if you've been on an active vacation before, you know its not sitting on a beach relaxing.

You're saying that playing an instrument for 2.5hrs is grueling, really? Seems a bit dramatic since the Rolling Stones are ancient and they're still plugging away but believe what you'd like, no worries

They've had two yrs to prepare, they're a veteran band. Does it seem odd to me that EV squeezed in a solo tour before a PJ tour? Yes. Do I think it helped his voice, no. Personally at this stage of their careers, no extra stress is a good thing but agree to disagree

Gutted. What makes me worried is the lack of afford to make it up to ticket holders. Why not reschedule? Why not at least say „We‘ll be back“?

We were holding onto these tickets for 2 years, I was worried about the show more than one time due to effing COVID. And know we made it through this s**t and are almost there and all we get is „deeply sorry, cancelled, refunds available“?

They haven't toured in 2 full yrs other than Ed squeezing in a solo tour
You come off as extremely judgemental..

They've had two yrs to prepare, they're a veteran band. Does it seem odd to me that EV squeezed in a solo tour before a PJ tour? Yes. Do I think it helped his voice, no. Personally at this stage of their careers, no extra stress is a good thing but agree to disagree
And they didn’t consult you? Weird.

Regarding the EV Eathlings tour, having seen 7 of the shows, those were amongst the best concert experience I have ever seen and there should be no regret about that tour.

If a bunch of dudes who work an 8 hr day then can play as a PJ cover band for 2 hrs can handle it, I think a bunch of pros can be just fine not working a full 8hr day and just play 2.25hrs should be just fine!

Yeah, totally the same. Cover bands are held to the same standard, no doubt.

Well...they are based out of Seattle. Kind of hard to go halfway across the world to make up two shows. Hopefully just two.

Knew that was coming.  Had a nice time in Vienna and guess I will spend a couple days in Prague.  Here’s hoping but not counting on Amsterdam.   Tour has been a complete shit show and will go down as their worst ever.   Every tour something comes up with Eddie.  I honestly think this tour will be their last.  Short shows and some members of the band seem disinterested and going through the motions.   Worse things than to spend a couple days in Prague and if Amsterdam happens will be pleased, if it doesn’t won’t be surprised at all.
Absolute garbage of a post. 2hrs 20mins might be short for pj but that's long for most parts. Andas for your comment about the band being disinterested, I don't know what shows you went to but the 3 shows I saw were killer. Jog on 🥱

Ha, not talking about standards, talking about how "grueling" it is to be a professional touring band especially when they're 30yrs into it. It's like athletes who complain, both are living dream lives

Do you see how much fucking energy the band put into EVERY single show ? And flying first class and not coach is a pathetic attempt to skew your argument.. ALL air travel affects people whether you’re the pilot or a fucking stowaway who’s latched onto one of the wheel landing assemblies..you’re just creating arguments like that other poster who I can’t be arsed naming..Dr or something..Ed’s throat is fucked, can’t sing and it’s as simple as that..
