Once Porch was played in Budapest the show was basically over for me.  I have been to too many shows and don’t get too stoked about hearing Better Man and Alive anymore.  They even play SOLAT too much these days.  Mind drifts to beating the crowds out of the venue and FOOD.

The casual fans love it.  I get it.  My problem not theirs.

This comparison about the casual fan and us die-hards is this a new thing??? I kid cause it never stopped them on every previous tour from including surprises and kick-ASS songs in the encores😎

That used to be me.. (never left early, but was not excited for certain songs) this year it was different.. maybe because of the 2 year delay, but this year I took in every note of every song in like there's no tomorrow

Last thing I'm going to say and it's my opinion only...I can get used to the shorter sets and length of the shows and the main-sets have been good to great but, again if they don't mix up these encores none of these latter day shows in their career are ever going to become legendary and isn't that what made this band legendary?!

Sure.. but I trust that there is a good reason for it.. They're not playing shorter sets because they're half assing it..

I always find it weird when someone says, "awesome set list".  I mean, if you are on this forum, following a show set list, you have to be somewhat of a hardcore fan, right? And no way a hard core fan is saying, "awesome set list". I just don't understand. Just my opinion, haha

Looked like a killer set on paper! Some lesser played Gigaton, plus Immortality, HTI, Smile, and Porch in the number two spot? Awesome stuff!

Encore looked great. I’m a RITFW fan. That’s a killer song. I went to many a PJ show before I finally heard it (weird, right?). It’s always fun live. Would I switch it out for something else? Yeah, maybe. If I’m in the building and hearing it? It’d be a lot of fun! NY has it on his upcoming live album with Promise of the Real, so he must like it somewhat.

My son is coming with me to his first two PJ shows in the fall and I know he’d love to hear it. When I told him they opened with it recently, he was pretty amazed.

I hope people in the house enjoyed the show today! Can’t wait for September and fingers crossed! Vegas was canceled for me and 2020 postponed, so I’ll be loving whatever they play come Nashville and St. Louis!

Wonder what the overlap is between people who complain about every single set and people who "NEED" a ticket to the just-announced rescheduled Apollo show. I bet the Venn diagram is pretty close to a full circle.

As I've said for at least the last 10 years they should never play this song again. For one it's not even in NY top 50 songs and I don't care that it's a sing along, they have other sing alongs they can play. Better yet how about just play a damn PJ song instead and for the people that like this song still(I don't know what to tell you) I've seen it many times including NY show he took over basically in Toledo and I've seen a crazy version with Bono in Toronto in 2005 so there has been times it was cool but, c'mon no-one ever needs to hear this song again! Last RITFW rant ever from me. Hope it was a GREAT show for everyone there🙏😎❤️
Yeah I don't like it....If you're going to play a cover play Fuckin Up (my opinion of course). That song rocks 10x as hard
I love RITFW whenever they play it but the best cover to play as a closer for me is Baba O'Reily, hands down.

When you shit on RITFW just remember that it still feels just as fresh live with Neil as it did when it was released.

Is it a true cover though? PJ minus EV played on the record right?

I know what you mean though. I don't care for that song at all....just kind of a lazy song
It's a Neil Young song from the album freedom. Not merkinball. Only connection to PJ is that they performed it with him at the vma's in '93.

    This is a nice setlist.

Also, I like Rockin in the free world quite a bit. Doesn't bother me as a closer at all.
They came out during the 1993 tour and did it with him also. When they opened for Neil.

I really digged it at London. Eddie was intense and the band fed off that.

Man you just can’t accept people having an opinion on the set lists. The set list was always a HUGE part of this band. They’ve been discussed, praised, critiqued, picked apart etc…. Forever. Get over it

its been played ”every night”. I doubt the locale would make it a given it would have ”always” been played tonight.

I agree. And it now is a drastic change in the sets. These encores (and most of the set lists) are simply not great. I don’t want to hear Betterman and Jeremy every show. As someone else stated this is my opinion and my problem but at the same time the band has become well known for their unique live experience. Now that experience seems abruptly VERY different.

This for me anyways is where the shows have fallen short, it's not been the main-set or not enough songs or length of the shows but, these encores have just been boring and I don't care if I'm there or not. I've been to enough shows to have this opinion, make the encores BETTER!
    Your  demands are just rude
