Does a cover of ritfw mean anything to the band or audience after 30 plus years?

Another snooze fest encore...it's not how you start but, how you finish and PJ is blowing the competition away in the main sets and losing in the end because of these flat, boring and unimaginative encores. It's preventing all these shows from being classics. For the people there I'm sure it's the best but, compare these encores to every other tour and this is by far  the worst tour ever for encores!
    I don’t disagree.
Even for the shorter sets, mix in more Smile, Footsteps, Leash, for covers add Fuckin Up and Sonic Reducer, and suddenly it’s a lot better.
The show with a three won’t Betterman, Alive, RITFW encore would have been the worst.
That was the Denmark encore 😅 to be fair the crowd ate it up and only us "hardcore" fans complained.. I like at least one odd ball in my encores as well btw!

As I've said for at least the last 10 years they should never play this song again. For one it's not even in NY top 50 songs and I don't care that it's a sing along, they have other sing alongs they can play. Better yet how about just play a damn PJ song instead and for the people that like this song still(I don't know what to tell you) I've seen it many times including NY show he took over basically in Toledo and I've seen a crazy version with Bono in Toronto in 2005 so there has been times it was cool but, c'mon no-one ever needs to hear this song again! Last RITFW rant ever from me. Hope it was a GREAT show for everyone there🙏😎❤️

It's a Neil Young song from the album freedom. Not merkinball. Only connection to PJ is that they performed it with him at the vma's in '93.

    This is a nice setlist.

Also, I like Rockin in the free world quite a bit. Doesn't bother me as a closer at all.

Yeah I don't like it....If you're going to play a cover play Fuckin Up (my opinion of course). That song rocks 10x as hard

Ummm, no the song is from his studio album Freedom which, no-one from PJ played on. It is a cover and a bad one at that, even NY isn't a fan of his own song!

From afar, this is a stellar setlist.  RITFW is not my favorite closer but the River Cross-Alive-RITFW  combo with the Ukraine nod has a powerful sentiment so I see why they went for it.
