Also, what ever happened to the It’s OK tag on Daughter?
Was always rare then popped up at the home shows in 2018. Probably won't surface again for awhile.
We will get it on us tour for sure. Maybe with a saying no tag too.

This should be the Gigaton Tour and is not.

    Thats the weirdest thing imo

Never thought RVM would become a rare gem.
Let's be honest, Ed hasn't been able to sing this for the last five years. Also, is anyone moved by Porch at this stage anymore?
Thought they did a great job with RVM at Encore.
Agreed. I thought that was maybe the best live version I’ve ever heard. I liked that they slowed it down somewhat. The tempo sounded a little closer to the album version.

Agreed.  It’s like they don’t have confidence in their current material and have resigned themselves to being a nostalgia band.  I thought they were more courageous than that.

Which had been my point all along.  They are in the Rock and Roll HOF.  At this point they could do pretty much whatever they want and would get away with it on their name alone.  Apparently they do not believe their recent work, including the last album they just put out, is that good.

Finally, if Ed sang all of these older songs and hit every note the way it was recorded then great!  But he doesn’t.  Many songs he is pulling away from the mic or not even singing large sections.  It sounds watered down to me and I believe 100% that the performances would be better if they mixed in more songs off the more recent albums.  Because they were recorded when he was older and suit his older voice.

Flame away, I have been here since the beginning and love this band so much.  I’m sure there are more people who just want to hear the hits.  But what made this band great was their unrelenting need to search for different sounds.  And their reverence for every song they have created.  These set lists feel lazy.

Thing is they did play a lot of Gigaton at Ohana and they sounded great! I was there and the new songs were the highlight to me.

So, the lack of Gigaton songs during this tour is really weird. Maybe next year they will do it properly?

I take back a little of what I said about singing the older songs.  Have been watching clips from Hyde Park night 1 and 2 and he does sound pretty on point.  So that’s good.  Still wish they would show love to the newer catalog.

Dance of the Clairvoyants was the highlight at BST 2, I was disappointed that 5 albums were effectively missed off the set list.  My friends who went to BST 1 and only know their ‘early stuff’ we’re delighted so fair enough.  When I think about it, I hardly ever listen to Ten or Vs anymore, so I guess I’m out of step.

The falling back to Ten (songs they themselves must feel very detached from) from 2006(?) and onward is so fucking weird.
