Matt posted online that he is not joining Foo. So you can scratch that one off the list.
Matt really is joining Foo Fighters. Or quitting PJ. Or Soundgarden is hiring a new singer.mfc2006 said:

I would agree that tour announcements are the biggest news PJ can make. Even if it's not a tour in my area, someone, somewhere gets to go
Isn't this the high point of being a PJ fan, going to the live shows?0

After last year’s tour I’ve now seen everything except comes then goes. I wonder if it’ll ever be played? Maybe at an Ed solo show someday?GlowGirl said:
I have seen all songs on Gigaton except for Buckle Up and Comes Then Goes. So, that is not bad.steven87 said:
I really lucked out with Gigaton seeing them at SHN and both Ohana encore shows in 2021. I think they played 6-7 songs each show and I got to hear a lot of my favorites. They didn’t feature it nearly as much on last year’s tour.CP218430 said:
No, I'm with you. I loved the three Gigaton songs I heard in St. Louis and want more. I'm bummed I'll never probably get a chance to hear a lot of songs off albums 6-11. I love all their stuff and each show is dynamic but new material makes it a lot more fun. Just my 2 cents.LaFleur said:
Perhaps I'm in minority, I still enjoy the excitement of new material - new albums and shows heavier on newer songs. If indeed the "Big News" is new album and limited tour, it'll be a shame (imo) if the Gigaton tunes fall off setlists so soon.mcgruff10 said:
Agreed. Nothing will ever replace those first five albums. Just give me live shows with diverse setlists that exclude you are.bootlegger10 said:
Agree. If Gigaton was erased from existence I wouldn't give it a second thought. Fine songs on it, but give me the live shows.PJNB said:A new album does not excite me at all.
New shows that come with a new album? Sure.
 New shows period? Every time.0

A tour is big news. If that's not sufficient for someone they should look inward instead of moaning about capitalism.evenflow82 said:I think the term "big news" is being overblown. In a capitalist society things are marketed as big, new, amazing, etc when they are usually just normal. Big is a generic adjective that gets carelessly thrown around all the time.
With that said, I hope it is a big tour with longer sets, cool merchandise and at beautiful venues but am keeping my expectations realistic and not pinning my dreams to one word. Glad they will be out playing some shows!
I was simply saying that goods and services are often overhyped to make money, adding a reminder to keep our expectations realistic about the tour. I know emotions and reactions to people's theories, news and opinions about PJ can run hot...I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

As an Austin local, I'm guessing they're playing Moody Center, not ACL Festival. They've already headlined ACL Fest twice, and haven't played a proper arena show here in decades. It's a brand new arena and everyone and their mom is trying to tour and play there this year because it's such a fantastic arena (and we're so glad Erwin Center is defunct now).0

ACL makes sense. Seems that is the payday that gets them back on the road. It happens to be a great fest no matter who is headlining. Unfortunately (fortunately) I will be there the week after for the Formula One Race.0
