Definitely curious if VIP is decent close views vs sectioned off to the side like Ohana.

Would love to go, but we are going to Nashville and St. Louis and I am not going to push my luck asking my wife to go to shows 3 days in a row, especially with one of them being a festival.
I'm in the same boat.  Also hoping StL doesn't suffer due to fatigue (the band's fatigue, not mine).
Hopefully since it is a festival, it will be a shorter, less intense set that won't take too much out of them. I worry more about Ed's voice than the rest of the band.

Got my tickets! Saw Ed at this festival a few years ago and kinda swore to myself I wouldn't go again, but with the general *waves hands at the awfulness of everything, including the black void of other show options anywhere near my house on this tour* I'll go back on my own word.

Agreed.  It was the worst run festival- or concert period- I've ever been too.  Absolutely maddening.  I did a travel package, flew out from Oregon only to find out they had oversold the hotel so they moved me to another one.  The 'free gift' was a cookbook about cooking with entrails and organs that nobody normally wants to eat, the lines at the festival were INSANE, there were absolutely no ride shares or transportation after the show in the area that was set aside for taxis and ride shares, the walk back into town was like a death march, and the people who worked for the festival were completely clueless.  I would never go back.  On the bright side, Louisville is a rad city and the people in it are generally awesome.

Wife was onboard and ready to buy VIP and then realized the size of this fest. Seeing we got Jack White & PJ already this year, probably passing but damn that's a good lineup.

VIP gets you away from the main crowd and to the front of the stage

The site map I saw made it look like the VIP section would be pretty nice to be in.

Wow!  Besides headliners, it has a great undercard.  Father John Misty, Shaky, Lukas, DBT, Marcus King, Caamp, Yola.  Some good stuff right there...

3 shows in 3 nights, this, Nash and StL? After 3 shows in 8 days in the east? Hmmm.

Honestly yeah if it wasn't the only show within a sane drive of my town, I would be a hard pass. I camped last time and that was alright, so I didn't run into the transportation issues you had. I don't remember what the camping pass cost that year, but it sure as shit wasn't $265, more like half that. And yeah the festival as a whole (outside of Ed's set) was just a big bust for me.

But the tour being what it is, here I go again. I'm excited to see them, so I'll cope with the rest.

Foos were set to play Seattle on the Tuesday of that week, then South Dakota on Sunday and up to Winnipeg Wednesday. Flying over to Kentucky could have been done, but wouldn't make the most sense.

Have had Nashville and STL tix since 2000.  I live right by Louisville.  This was a must (and easy) add.  Enjoyed seeing EV here in 2017.  Three nights of PJ in a row…Let’s Go!!!
