For those who have gone, recommendations on lodging? Do you airbnb? And, if so, any particular areas? Hotel reccommondations? Thank you!
Went for EV a few years back. Stay Downtown near 4th St (I believe). a great downtown area. I think I stayed at Seelbach (Hilton). Great location. The Brown hotel is supposed to be nice too. Lot's of things to walk to (Louisville slugger, food, entertainment, etc).
One suggestion for transportation to the festival...It's not that far from downtown (5-10 miles). I suggest driving yourself, if you can, or maybe shuttles? We did an Uber to the festival. After the shows the Uber line was a mile long (hours in wait time). we ended up walking back (not easy) and got lucky catching a cab with some other pedestrians walking. Maybe they've figured out/improved the transportation issue but I would drive next time.
Yeah, many places don't have much availability, if any. We ultimately went Airbnb route. Found a cool place in what looks like a really good location for fraction of the cost. It'll do.

When was the last time they played 3 shows in a row? Hopefully Nashville doesn’t take a hit fri night.
I saw them 3 nights in a row for a Canadian tour, can't remember the year (London, Hamilton and Kitchner) and it was fantastic, but I was exhausted afterward, can't imagine having to perform 3 nights in a row. Great memories though.

Why? It fits right into their schedule, and the lineup features like, 7 or 8 artists that PJ or Ed have played with before. Seems like a perfectly natural fit to me.
Just doesn't seem like the kind of festival PJ would typically play and 3 days in a row in diff cities is rare for PJ these days, but you're right that it fits into their tour routing and def some friends-of-PJ on the bill.
Crowded House alone on the same day makes me sure this was planned in advance with PJ headlining as a big part of the plan.
Wow! What is the estimated crowd size for this festival? 30k?
When I looked this fest up it said 90,000!!! That's exactly why my immediate reaction was "Hard NO despite truly amazing lineup". I'm short, and I know how Coachella was when it went from 80k to 100k. 90k is way too many people for me.
But great lineup, and I hope everyone who goes has a blast!

I googled "capacity" which is almost always how much they can hold max on any single day/night. Which would be a whopping 360,000 across the 4 days for this, although usually the Thurs & the Sun don't sell out the single days. I bet 4 day passes for this sell out though.
Edited to add: I searched Coachella stats for more info, 125,000 is the max daily tix sold & max attendance. I imagine it's the same for Bourbon & Beyond. But I did just put the question in to someone I know will definitely know the answer.

With each passing moment I feel better and better about my impulse decision to jump on VIP passes for Saturday right after the announcement the other day.
I looked at some pictures of the crowd from 2019. If you don't have VIP tickets and aren't committed to get there early, you are going to be quite a ways back.

That's exactly it for me. I'm short, and I'm cranky, and I love a good fest but at this point I don't just want to watch the bands on screens from way back and still hardly see anything even on the screens. And VIP plus travel & hotels for just 1 day doesn't make sense. And this is from someone who was shut out of ALL of the other shows for 2022 so far....

+1. And I normally think things through. But this looks like a good exception to have made!

We are going to both London BTS shows in July. We have 10C tickets, which is better than just buying the GA tickets, but will still probably be back a bit due to having a short wife and being unwilling to be jammed in with everyone in the front.

I did Louder than Life in 2019. Same festival site, same promoter. It’s absolutely massive for sure. That said through the war of attrition we moved into position for Guns N Roses right before Ice Cube played and by the end of GNR’s set we were right down front. Different fan base and intensity for sure but still. I will say on the flip side of that if you are anywhere down front and you turn around and look behind you I assure you that you’ve not seen much else like it. The crowd simply had no end. Aerial photos of it after the fact blew my mind.

Total for weekend. Louder than Life last year had 40k per day. Pretty sure tge only festivals that can touch 90k per day in US is Lollapalooza and Coachella. Scooped up a VIP for Saturday Pearl Jam, also have VIP for Louder than Life. Louisville peeps are very lucky to get such great festivals back to vack weekends. Heres to beautiful weather

30-40K at a festival is still a bit much for me. Especially now, but would have been a couple of years ago, too.

Just to clarify, when I googled "Bourbon and Beyond festival capacity" I got 90k. The site wasn't the promoter's official site so I have no idea of the accuracy of that, but in the business "capacity" means max daily attendance, i.e. "max allowed on any given day"; and "attendance" means # of people attending the whole event, so across the days. So at least for the site I was on, they said capacity for Bourbon & Beyond was 90k in 2019, and it is possible they meant attendance, but for now I assume it's 90k max for daily attendance.
Jumped on the 4-day Mint VIP a week ago before price increases. Normally not pumped for festivals, but this is a stellar lineup, for my tastes.
The crossover possibilities are incredibly high for friends of PJ, Isbell/Truckers, Mike Campbell/Chris Stapleton, etc.
Also, they have bourbon.
Looking forward to seeing some PJ fanatics there in Louisville.

For everyone going to this on Saturday (PJ day), if you'll be there early, do NOT miss Reignwolf. Just 2 guys, who are astounding in their blues/rock/driving music. SO worth seeing if you can.
I am very likely to have 2 tickets for sale to this show, I bought the Sat GA for the lowest amount $99 and fees seeing as the wife and me had no options but now that we are shifting gears and hopefully going to Ottawa instead (longer weekend and almost the same drive for us from PA). They are supposed to mail these GA tickets soon but haven't see anything yet. If someone wants the pair, let me know, otherwise, I'll probably post on stubhub etc. I wish they were here already, they said around beg of August so I hope to get email soon. I don't have Ottawa yet but checking daily, no new ticket drops since the last one i missed. and not much resale, I'm hoping that starts to kick up.....rock on. Let hope Ed's voice is back in action for these dates, I guess they are playing tonight...hope it goes well.
