Well articles like this don’t work like that. Especially with pathetic rag like Rolling Stone. And Matt and Chad know that.
now you've changed the argument. But to this comment; maybe they knew the "journalist" in question. Maybe they trusted them. Maybe they were given assurances that later came to be untrue, as they both have stated on their socials.

The entire point is, none of us can know exactly what the full context was or why they said what they said and under what circumstance. The fact that it was two of Taylor's closest friends/colleagues should call into question the motivations of the writer or editor of the story.
Well if you’re gonna “‘maybe this and maybe that,” maybe Matt and Chad thought they were being sympathetic to Taylor with those quotes, but didn’t think about how they made Dave look until the article came out…and now they’re doing damage control. Maybe….
This sounds way more plausible than RS didn't run the whole story. RS didn't mix and match words from sentences. These were full sentences. This was information that was not public before so of course RS is going to jump on what these guys said. That's the other thing, it wasn't one random guy talking. It was 2 different well known rock starts that told the same story about Taylor.

The only context that would've made a difference is if Matt and Chad both said, "Everything we are saying is not true."

I don't think you understand what context means. lol

yeah, that's kinda my entire point. none of us know. it is "maybe" everything.

If there was important context that materially changes how those quotes read, Matt or Chad could tell us

It's really something that they BOTH said what they did to RS

I don't think you understand how interviews work.

Context:the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be fully understood and assessed.

What context could've possibly been added that would've changed what they said? These quotes weren't taken out on context. They were quotes that should never have been said as they added a whole new light to this story. There is no context that would've changed the substance of what they said. Neither Matt nor Chad should ever have said anything like this. They both fucked up and are now trying to walk it back.

I'm amused by the people who are complaining about the "political bias" at Rolling Stone.  It's a magazine that arose out of the counterculture of the '60s.  It has always had a left-wing point of view.  It has never pretended otherwise.  I wonder if the people who take such offense at its political bias are equally offended by the political bias of National Review or the Weekly Standard.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

finally read the entire article. man....two months on and it's still tough.
I thought it was a great article. Will be interesting to see how RS responds to Matt and Chad's statements (Maybe post the entire audio?)

FF are crazy with their touring schedule - I'd say that's an objective truth. But flying to Australia for 1 show is next level. Could definitely see how people in their camp might not have been jacked about that. (If true, that is.)
what a waste....just to be "the first big show"
That happened again with Dave/FF around 2005?, if I remember correctly. Dave describes that trip down under in his latest book.

So does this mean the band goes on?  I haven’t read anything if they have confirmed.
