Enjoy the moment where it actually hits you that you're about to see you're favorite band live for the first time. It's different for everyone I think - it might hit you on the drive there, maybe it's when you see the venue and you get inside. For me it was when Sonic Youth finished their set and the guitar tech put down a telecaster on the guitar stand next to the drum kit. I said stupidly to my friend that was with me "holy sh@t, that's Eddie's guitar" lol. Took me a while to realize it, but I got there :)
    This is good

You haven't been to ANY concert before, or a PJ show before?

First, realize that the Nashville show is a rescheduled date, so the allotment of tickets available will not be what you would expect from a typical concert announcement (well, except for those shady practices that TM does for artists like Bieber and BTS, where they hold back a majority of tickets) and your chance of getting a Pit ticket are already slim. I'd suggest you enter for any ticket you can get, but don't get your hopes up of actually getting your name pulled.

Being in a pit gives you flexibility. I don't worry about height as I'm 5-11, but I also don't get up in the crowds. If you hang out in a general area in the back, where you aren't having your space crowded, you should be able to see fine.
I have a feeling that a LOT of people are going to be disappointed when they don't get tickets to a rescheduled show.  And putting a rescheduled show over a newly added show in your priority list could be a double loss.
Correct. The number of tix available in the 10c lotteries for rescheduled shows will be tiny. I honestly don't expect there will be any available for MSG - if any tix were refunded for that show, they will most likely become Premium / Platinum etc. That said, I of course entered the MSG lottery as my last choice, knowing full well that nothing will come of it.

I'm 5'1", and for shows I usually hang at the back rail if I have pit. I'm too old to queue for 2 days to be up front and there is usually enough room in the back where I can move around and find a spot where I can see.

Build up a tolerance to farts.

Oh, and it's called the pit because of the B.O.

We really don't have any idea what the pool will be or how many people will put in new ticket requests.  Its a total unknown.  For all I know there could be more refunded tickets than new requests but that would be a complete surprise.

So, I did the same as you.  I really wanted MSG (missed out in 2020) but the odds just seemed too low for me to make it my first choice.  So, I went with Camden as my #1 and put MSG as #2.  That second choice is almost certainly an impossiblity but since it doesn't cost me anything it was worth the long shot.

Even putting a new show as my #1 I'm still worried about getting ANY tickets.  I just don't want the OP to think that there is any sort of guarantee that they would get tickets to Nashville, especially GA tickets.    My guess is that there will be several times more requests than tickets available.

I have never won the draw for a NYC show (MSG and Brooklyn)  ever since the lottery started, and I'm local. But, I've been fortunate to get to all the shows, thanks to TM gen onsales and the help of friends. MSG is a different beast, but I do also believe that Camden is going to be a challenge.

I agree, the requests will far outweigh ticket availability. The only difference now is that they allow you to select a single ticket rather than make you buy a pair. That can easily throw a wrench into the odds. I just want the drawing done so we know whether to hope for verified. (My luck at verified is dismal)

I've only won the lottery once for NYC but the sample is small (1 for 5 including Eddie's show just recently).  My only win was MSG 1 in 2016.  But I've had great luck everywhere else including Ten Club tickets to all four Fenway shows so I won't complain.  I just have a fear of putting in for anything in NYC.

  • Hi everyone! Thank you so much for the advice, and anything more anyone has is always appreciated! Just another quick question: Should I also enter the pre-sale for the St. Louis show in case I don't get the Nasheville show? I cannot afford to be charged for both shows, but the chances of me getting tickets for one show, let alone two, are pretty slim yes? So would it be a safe risk? And if I don't get tickets for a show via pre-sale, what should I do? Sorry for all the questions lol, I'm only 16 and have never gotten the change to go to a real concert due to low funds and living in the rural South so I wanna be prepared!

You run the risk (however slight) of getting both and charged for both. But, I think you can sell one in F2F? If you really want to get in, reserved increases your chances.

Also, sign up for the verified Fan through Ticketmaster. It can be tough but I’ve gotten tickets for  other artists that way.

If doing GA, head over to the “Stone side.” Center of the GA fills up quickest, then Mike’s side. The “Stone side” is much more chill. I’ve managed to get to 3-5 people back from the rail several times without waiting all day in line, or pushing/being an ass to get up front.

It is very unlikely that you get STL second priority and would likely be a throwaway pick. These are already sold out shows and refunded tickets are the only thing being available in this lotto so the odds are going to be very slim.

One thing to consider is fan to fan will be starting up so you would get money back either way if you got two pair. No timeline for fall shows though for fan to fan has been given. Also if you strike out in the presale this is the means you will need to go to get tickets. Good luck!

  • Sign up for the verified fan TM sale as a back up and put in for both shows w/10C. Since both of the shows you are considering are rescheduled dates, you will probably only get your first choice show and not both. Even if you got picked for the second show,  if you had insufficient credit limit the transaction would be cancelled anyway so why not leave yourself as many options as possible?!?
If you don’t get lucky in the lottery draw keep your eye on the Given to Fly section of the forum to see if anyone has a spare or stalk the fan to fan exchange  closer to the show date. Peoples plans change and extra tickets often become available in the day’s leading up to the show.
At the show be kind to your neighbors and enjoy the show in person, not through the camera of your phone.
Good luck OP and welcome to the party.

1st off. congrats on making the jump to a live PJ show.  If you are a late-to-the-party fan, it will be a religous experience.  That said.  Be prepared to be disappointed by the lottery.  as mentioned these are re-scheduled shows.  PJ fans rarely turn tix back in.  Verified Fan for both, cross fingers and toes.  If you get into VF sale, take 1st tix you can get, snooze you lose. PJ is not a fan of Deep South ( TX, LA, MS, AL, etc). If not this go round, pick a cool destination and make it an event. Patience and persistentce are the keys to PJ tix.  best of luck.  Hope to see you at a show soon (OKC will be an easier option fwiw).

my wife is 4'11" and 3/4 lol, and she hates the floor for all arena shows, unless we manage reserved in the first few rows (never happened). we got floor GA for the Foo in 2005, and we had so stand so far back for her to see, we would have preferred reserved 100 level.

I will never get rail. Ever. I just can't wait in line that long. I just won't do it. I wouldn't even have done it in my 20's.

the best seats for someone in your situation is lower bowl, closer to the stage, mike/jeff side (left side of the stage-they're more active and animated than Stone/Boom), but those seats are the hardest reserved seats to get.

oh, and take in every minute. don't get sucked into the merch scene. you're going to love it.

even if you get bad seats, you didn't get bad seats. it's a pearl jam show. if you're in the building, you've scored the time of your life.

GT, Main rules of thumb: Be kind and have fun. If you have access to alcohol and that's your thing....go easy on it, if at all....this is an experience you'll want to remember.

re: tickets....both of the shows you're going for are gonna be tough to pull tickets. You'll be lucky to get one of them. Nash will probably be even harder than StL, so consider putting StL as your first choice.

re: seat selections: Select both options. Given your height and it being your first show....seats are your best bet, IMO, even if they're more remotely located.

Last and not least, PJ fans are a awesomely crazy tribe. Chat up the folks around you....many will have lots of PJ-related stories that they'll be glad to share.

Good luck w/ the ticket lotto and have a blast!!

If you can only afford to buy one show, just make sure you check all options for Nashville. If you only want to do GA, then Nashville and St Louis are probably slim enough chances you'd only get lucky with one of them.

And if you miss out on either, make sure you got Verified Fan if you can. And if nothing works in your favor, the Fan 2 Fan Exchange they'll open up later will give you more opportunities as I'm sure people will see what they get in the lottery and possibly put a few tickets back out there.

    Best of luck!

No worries, I was 17 when I went to my first concert. It was Pearl Jam at Alpine Valley and it changed my life, heh. I really hope you get tickets and that you enjoy the hell out of it. If you don't have the funds to buy both, I'd say just sign up for one in the presale. You can sign up for the Ticketmaster verified fan sale for a second chance. Then, if that doesn't work out, there is the fan-to-fan exchange. Unfortunately there's no direct trading between fans. I got to go to many concerts in the past because of the great people in this fan club that sold me their extra for face value. Good luck!

  • Others have said it, and i agree totally. For your first PJ show, and your first ever show, it's better to go for seats than GA.

You'll see them again, because you will be amazed by what you witness, and then you might want to try GA.

    Best of luck and enjoy!
