How do you figure out where a record was pressed without it explicitly stating it on the packaging?

Runout information (the etchings in the dead wax).

United is fine but not great.  At this point that’s the way it goes.

For a relative newb to this, do you have somewhere I can look into this more? Not sure if I’d be able to tell a plant from another one based off the runout, but I would like to be able to. Thanks.

Where are the gold ones being sold?
Theory: 20,600 Pressing Total = 20k Clear and 600 Golden hidden as surprises. This is just my speculation based on the photo posted by Patrick_Sea3 of the golden copy.

Seems like those are the ones the 10c will be selling too based on the hints

Easy Street had a few copies, that they gave out. 2000 copies pressed is what they think.

Thanks. I’m on discogs and use it a lot. I just wanted to figure out how to tell where it was pressed based on the runout info. Appreciate your advice!

You are correct. I will be actively seeking out the EU pressing also.

Terrible QC from the plant. Has been one of the worst pressing plants for a long time.

Agreed on this, my copy is splotchy with random fuzzy spots along with a label that’s not adhered properly. Hopefully sounds fine, will check when the kiddos wake up.

    I’m not hopeful on mine

im planning on playing both this and the OG this weekend.  I doubt this reissue will sound as good. Hope it does but not likely

Tangent: Was there ever a consensus on how the clear No Code sounded compared to the original?

Picked up my copy at Piranha Records in Round Rock, Texas (North Austin).  They had about 7-8 left when I grabbed mine. Been wanting this for quite some time, so very happy to finally have it.  I also picked up the Prince LP.

    Worse.

It sounds thinner for sure. Also the clear one (at least the one I have) isn’t pressed well. A lot of noise that won’t clean out

Picked up a copy at the Record Cellar in Vincennes Indiana. They still have a few copies left.

Is anyone else just stoked they could finally get this record without shelling out a ton of money for an OG? Call me crazy but this is in my top five favorite PJ releases. All concerts included.
This is probably my all time favorite and definitely the album that got me into PJ which opened the door to so much else.

Well if someone wants a clear they be able to score one pretty cheap in a little bit, considering how many people are now going to buy multiple copies chasing the gold.

I think the gold is currently only available at East Street in-store.
