As of right now, Fallout Today, but it changes by the minute. I really like all but a couple.

I’ll probably be alone here, but so far it’s Mrs. Mills. Sure it’s Beatlesque, but it was surely intentional.
The song is about the piano, a 1905 Vertegrand made famous by pianist Mrs. Mills, that still resides at Abbey Roads.  It’s the piano used by McCartney on Lady Madonna.
The piano itself is called “Mrs. Mills” and resides there to this day. It is said the piano doesn’t work on all songs, it’s as if the piano chooses the song, not the other way around.
Very cool and a great song by Ed.

EDIT - just saw the interview with the Boss where he explains most of this. Had no idea Paul wanted to buy Mrs. Mills and they turned him down. Crazy.

Cool, thanks for the explanation. I hadn't heard that yet. I thought he was kidding during the show when he said it was about a piano.  :)

As tish mentioned, the interview with Springsteen includes EV explaining the double entendre of the piano. The woman’s right to choose…. Great interview, highly recommended

  • I heard a bunch of the songs live but I wanted to wait on listening to the full album til my cd showed up. It came yesterday. The Dark is hands down my #1 tune. The only one I don’t really like is Picture, but it may grow on me.

I think it’s a pretty good album.. big fan of Fallout Today, Try, Rose Of Jericho and Power Of Right. The only one I’ll forever skip is Picture, it’s bad. It sounds like a song Carlton would dance too.

I LOVE Invincible, but the entire album is really enjoyable. I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but I like them enough to enjoy Mrs. Mills.

Good and Evil sounds/feels like a heavily revised version of Can't Deny Me (that's not a bad thing).

Enjoying the whole album really. Listened to it around 7 times now.

Favourites are Invincible, Good and Evil, Brother the Cloud, On My Way. Even enjoying the Elton John one now.

Agree with people who say they prefer this to Gigaton. Gigaton has some great songs on it but has a poor run of 4 songs from Never Destination to Comes Then Goes in my view
  • I can’t wait to see what Pearl Jam does with Andrew watt as the producer.

Feel like it’s going to feel more quick and fresh, like a backspacer but better. I think they obviously like gigaton and want to play it but with any luck they are itching to make another album

I have zero problems with "Backspacer but better".

Would rather have "Binaural but moodier" or "Riot Act but even more magic" though.

Eddie has said they are looking to record between tour legs this year with Andrew Watt. So seem to be itching.

I've been sticking with this album but it does currently sit bottom of all PJ/EV albums. That might seem like a massive negative, but there's a high standard to compete with.

Brother the Cloud is the standout song for me. I still like Invincible, Fallout Today, Power of Right and On My Way. Mrs Mills has really grown on me having got more involved with the lyrics, maybe my second favourite on the album now.

The Haves and Picture are perhaps my two least favourite songs from any PJ/EV album. The rest of the album just kind of passes me by.

I have quite a few favourite tracks from the new album. I like Invincible, Long Way, Brother the Cloud, Fallout Today, The Dark, The Haves, Mrs Mills and On my Way.

At first I was really really disappointed it wasnt like his previous solo album (slower tracks), but now I love it and cant stop listening to it.

Also, Rather be home on the Flag Day soundtrack is really chilled, so we have that too now, so I'm feeling very satisfied with his new material.

To me both albums came out around the same time as I couldnt get a copy of the CDs in England, until very recently, so I didnt start listening until I had both on disc.  I think everything will be ok now and I can listen whilst working.

Invincible is a beast!  Love it.

Picture is so so bad. I could barely get through it once.
  • Power Of Right…for now

  • The Haves, followed by Mrs. Mills, followed by Try.  Really like them all and listening to the album as a whole.
