  • Based on one listen, the most memorable songs for me are Good / Evil, The Dark, Brother The Cloud and Mrs. Mills.

And On My Way because Eddie's dad can sing! (I don't know why I feel proud of his dad for that lol.)

The only one I'll probably skip is Picture.
  • Try sounds like E Ticket ride. I think invincible and brother the cloud are best and the ones on repeat. I like power of right, good and evil and rose of Jericho. The song with his dad is just awesome. Still giving the dark and fallout today more changes, not sure yet.

    Mrs. Mills
  • I don’t know how to conduct a poll it won’t let me for some reason when I try, but it seems the consensus is Invincible fucking rules, brother the cloud is best single, and the rest are good with varying opinions on the best.

Obviously it’s all subjective but feels like the haves and the dark arent getting as much love.

Music is art and totally subjective so there’s no right or wrong answer but I love reading everyone’s opinion!

It’s so much fun to have something new from our boy to spin!!
  • And it’s essentially just an outro / instrumental type and not a full song like the rest but

my god am I the only one obsessed with on my way?? Throw on your best headphones or blast it in your car/best stereo you have..

fuck dude Eddie’s dad could really sing. The whole thing almost reminds me of Arc off riot act.. so ethereal and almost spiritual feeling

Love On My Way! I usually play it 2-3 times when I hit the end of the album. Love the call and response with his dad and fitting lines from other songs in the album… great closer!

I’ll probably be alone here, but so far it’s Mrs. Mills. Sure it’s Beatlesque, but it was surely intentional.
The song is about the piano, a 1905 Vertegrand made famous by pianist Mrs. Mills, that still resides at Abbey Roads.  It’s the piano used by McCartney on Lady Madonna.
The piano itself is called “Mrs. Mills” and resides there to this day. It is said the piano doesn’t work on all songs, it’s as if the piano chooses the song, not the other way around.
Very cool and a great song by Ed.

EDIT - just saw the interview with the Boss where he explains most of this. Had no idea Paul wanted to buy Mrs. Mills and they turned him down. Crazy.

It's a sophisticated double entendre. Listen to the Springsteen discussion for the non-PG bit you're missing.

Thanks! Just finished watching and edited my post. Only listened once and knew of the mystique of Mrs. Mills. Pretty cool how artists get inspired. It’s somehow an even better song now.

Does anyone else think that "The Dark" sounds eerily similar to "Dancing in the Dark" at certain points?  I'll never be able to hear this song and not immediately think that now.

    Try and Invincible
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
  • I went to ohana and they played some singles live and it was really good.

but now I’m so much more stoked to hear the rest of these puppies in the flesh.

Feel like these ones you mentioned will be sick live, really hoping to hear mrs mills just cause it’s so different. Literally a Beatles song by Eddie hah
  • Picture is still my favorite.

But other songs are starting to creep up. Good and Evil, Try, The Dark.

  • One of the songs sounds like a Lightning Bolt-era Pearl Jam song... but don't remember which one at the moment.

    Invincible
  • Picture is like a guilty pleasure. Not one of my favorites but for some reason I’ve been singing it all weekend. I think it’s the way Elton  says picture. It’s hard not to sing along too.

Stuck in my head: BrothertheCloud, Invincible, Mrs. Mills
Also enjoyed Try and The Picture because they’re so different. I think it’s great that Eddie experiments with new musical styles. It just sounds like he’s having Fun.

Fallout Today has some similarities in sound to Far Behind.  And that's a great thing.
