nato should throw us out, accept ukraine, and then go wipe putin off of the map.
I don’t think that would be bad for anyone. The kicking us out of nato anyway. The US is the biggest contributor to nato and the UN, and therefore gets the majority of criticism with any of their conflicts while we have the least to gain from the alliance. I say that because Canada and Mexico aren’t threats, Russia is a bigger threat to European countries than to us.
But wiping Putin out is going to start wwiii. And certainly going to want our help when that starts.
Embarrassed. Disgusted. Ashamed. What a disgrace. Our country needs a reboot. A minority of the electorate voted for this craven, malevolent, mendacious moron, and tens of millions of others are so disengaged that they didn't vote at all. We are whistling past the graveyard, America.
And, by the way, after they complete their mission to destroy the government and it fails to deliver vital services to tens of millions of Americans and leaves us all vulnerable and unsafe, they'll say, "See, we told you government doesn't work," and millions of our ignorant fellow citizens will nod along obliviously. When the heart of your philosophy is "government is bad," what incentive do you have to govern well?
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Thank you, BF. These are pretty much the exact words I logged on here to say after just watching video of the Trump/Vance tantrum slung at Velensky. Two overgrown adolescents barking and bating like middle school bullies. The whole country should be embarrassed, and anyone who is not needs to get their head out of their ass.
"Don't give in to the lies. Don't give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth. And to hope."

I think those are the right words. I have American blood, even if I'm not an American, and this truly had an effect on me physically - I got butterflies in my stomach (in a bad way). It's so fucking disappointing to think that some will teach their children that these are role models to aspire to behave like.

This is who the President of the United States sided with today. I hope all you COOTWH voters are proud of yourselves. Nice job.
Russia
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy head of Russian Security Council, wrote on Telegram that Trump had given Ukraine a “strong slap on the wrist”.
“For the first time, Trump told the cocaine clown the truth to his face: the Kyiv regime is playing with the third world war. And the ungrateful pig received a strong slap on the wrist from the owners of the pigsty. This is useful. But it’s not enough – we must stop military aid to the Nazi machine,” said Medvedev, who is also a former Russian president.
Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, also praised Trump for showing “restraint” with the Ukrainian leader, whom she called a “scumbag”.
“I think Zelensky’s biggest lie of all his lies was his assertion in the White House that the Kyiv regime in 2022 was alone, without support,” she wrote on Telegram. “How Trump and Vance held back from hitting that scumbag is a miracle of restraint.”

I was talking to a close friend just this evening and we both felt the same way about how the travesty that is happening in this country has the affect of leaving many people feeling sickened by the embarrassing and despicable behavior of the bullies currently in power. We both agreed anyone with any kind of common sense and decency and understanding of how detrimental all this is will feel the same way. These are our darkest times.
I guess a lot of MAGA supporters at this point think this is all just grand. I will have no words of pity for them when they find they have ruined this country and on the long run their very lives. What utter foolishness.
"Don't give in to the lies. Don't give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth. And to hope."
Trying really, really hard to articulate his disdain but only managed to express some 5th grade playground grunts and left the big boy speaking to JD Byryder.
so disgusted with our country for voting for these fools. We have truly lost our way as Americans. I hope the world will eventually forgive us.
A big part of that, is probably how much worse it gets, and if the U.S. will actually be able change direction in the future.
Up here in Canada, most of us are pretty concerned about becoming the next Ukraine. That video yesterday was brutal.
A large portion of America supports what's going on, and the rest just say they're sorry, which won't feel great if there's an effort to weaken us through economic force followed by annexation/invasion :(
I'm kind of shocked there's not bigger push back in the US like mega protests and civil unrest. Dude's systematically hacking government, anything that would check/balance what the executive branch is doing, controlling the narrative/media, and the good half of America thinks they can wait 2 or 4 years for fair and equitable elections?

No one cares. We are performative activists posting on social media, band's forums, etc, cosplaying as Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Greta Thunberg and "Tank Man" from Tiananmen Square. We have our yards to keep up, kid's soccer games to attend and several streaming services to watch.

If you’re looking out the window and thinking it’s a beautiful day and checks and balances, I’ve got news for you. You might want to reassess your view.
JD clearly baited trump into becoming a belligerent asshole there. I watched the whole sickening 50 minutes. Trump barely pushed back on anything Z said until JD activated the orange moron’s kiss the ring meter. All was fine until that bozo realized Z wasn’t bowing down to him.
We have Nelson Muntz at the helm of what could end up being a world war at worst, the destruction of Ukraine at BEST. AT BEST. Thanks america.

trump hit him up as soon as he got out of his car...said something about his attire. Then that fuckhead in the oval chimes in...real condescending too
Clearly a planned hit.
If trump thinks that (the whole meeting/performance) was necessary to get Zelensky to agree to the mineral rights he should be shamed by the entire world

I guess this was the civil war 2.0, but the south won this time :(

The reporter that asked that is from OAN or the like, and is the bf of MTG. No joke.
Again, ignorance. They were fighting Russian separatists in the region.
The US is in a proxy war in Ukraine and Ukraine is getting destroyed as a result of it along with a lot of death. The people of Donbas had an election to become independent and the US staged a coup. Besides WW2 when was the last time we were involved in a war and the country turned out ok?
Two questions for you:
1. Do you believe the Ukrainian citizens are against this war (think Kiev, Karkhiv, Dnipro, etc, not Donbas) and would prefer to be a vassal state of Russia? Or do you think they want to be independent, therefore they are fighting a war? Remember the Russians have pushed well past Donbas and wanted Kiev. So don't act like this is just about Donbas. If it was, the Russians could have just fortified the east exactly like they did Crimea.
2. Why do you think that a region in a country can just vote to make themselves independent? Would we allow that to happen? Would Canada allow Quebec to break-away? In what world do you live in where that could happen? Yes Donbas is primarily Russian speaking, but that was because of the massive emigration over the past 30 years. If they want to be Russian, go back to Russia. Ukraine should not ever just let them secede, and then take up arms against Kiev.
It's just amazing how you can think this way without drawing any comparatives to the rest of the West and how it/we would react to these very situations. I might remind you that no...we would not let a region just secede. Let me know if you need the exact situation where that was attempted.
I just want to point out that yes, Canada would 100% allow Quebec to vote for its independence and break away. It has already happened twice, and a third time is never off the table. So far, Quebecers have narrowly (once VERY narrowly) voted to stay a part of Canada. Canadians were glad it went that way, but we were and are prepared for Quebec to choose its own destiny.

President Zelenskyy showed up in London 24 hours later and was given a well deserved royal welcome. Neither of these gentlemen gave the other any guff about clothing. Right on, UK!
