I'm not even in that picture by the time Pearl Jam hit the stage. I could barely make out the Video screens from where I was>LOL
Still, GLAD I was there.
How far back did everyone stand? We were about 100 yards behind those 2nd speakers. Could see screens a bit. Wish they had screens mid way back. Was a blast though. Couldn’t have imagined better weather.
I'LL take a guess that I was about 250-300 yards away from the other stage. There may have been about 30-50 people people sprawled out behind me.
We couldn't ask for a better weather night on the Shore in Mid-Sept.
After last night I, with the rest of us, can hardly wait for the announcement for the make-up shows.
Okay this seems like a big crowd. I have Ohana Encore tickets and I’m a little worried about the experience. Was the sound decent farther back? Does anyone know the festival attendance comparison between SeaHearNow and Ohana? It doesn’t seem like Ohana’s set up is as long and narrow. Excited either way but kinda hoping for something a little smaller.

I'm seeing estimates for 20,000 at Ohana each day in recent years. Seems accurate based on the photos from 2019.

SHN had roughly 30k in attendance Saturday night. I left Sunday around 6:00 and it felt far less at that point. My brother works the event every year as a photographer. This year very few were allowed into pit to photograph the events due to restrictions, but he was able to get some sick shots regardless.
My experience… took an Uber over Saturday around 1:30. Security throughly checked my vax card and ID. Even the date on card to be sure I was fully vaccinated. We found our locker (well worth the $) and headed to rail to bring some friends some water. By 2:00 we were able to walk right to them on rail. If we wanted a spot, we probably could have gotten about 3rd/4th row, but I didn’t have it in me to stick it out all day and it was HOT up there. Loved the whole vibe of the day. The park tent had some awesome music and art. Hung there for a good chunk of day. We ventured back down fo beach when Patti smith was finishing. Walked are way up until it started getting overly crowded and became work. Wasn’t going to piss anyone off who was waiting all day. Our spot was great! Great sight lines especially since the stage is significantly higher than audience. I loved the show. I felt the set was well mixed new with old, hits with rock songs. The world felt normal for the day and that filled my soul. Just hope all stay healthy and we can do it again soon. Here are a few cell phone pics I took from my spot
can you feel this world with your heart and not your brain?
Oh and after show was amazing! Tangier blues band is so much fun regardless of who the special guests are. Nico Blue singing on change made the hair on my arms stand up. I do have a short video clip of the beginning for whoever was asking, but no clue on how to share it on here.

I have to say that I was really impressed with this festival and would gladly go again next year with or without pj. Definitely had a good vibe to it.
I kind of feel the same way (especially since we had a hookup for a well-located house to stay at). In fact I’d be specifically interested in going if I wasn’t really hyped to see the headliner, so we could wander a bit more instead of having to defend a main stage spot. Part of me definitely wished that we were staying for yesterday, as the weather seemed even better and I knew the crowd would be much thinner, but alas we had to go get our kids.

Yes! My wife and I were saying the same thing. Just stroll around checking everything out without caring too much about the headliner.

I got there as soon as gates opened and was able to be at the rail. I have to say, it was a nice experience all around. I cried happy tears, I'm not ashamed to say.
The wife and I stood on the boardwalk back by some shed (that may be me under the arrow, ha). Kinda wanted to stay away from the bigger crowded area. Sound was okay from where we were. You could hear it but you could also hear everyone around you talking. Overall thought it was a good time. Dr.Dog was great, Matt and Kim sounded good and of course PJ always plays a great show. Crowd was cool and friendly, had a handful of drunks but that's to be expected.

i turned to my wife at one point while navigating the crowd and said "look at all these HAPPY PEOPLE!" it was such a great vibe and fun time and i felt very comfortable despite a lot of pre-show anxiety about crowds. watching legendary bands while barefoot in the sand was an awesome situation, and the ridiculously beautiful weather didn't hurt. met lots of PJ veterans and first-timers, & it was so great to be back among my people. i mostly just wished i knew the lyrics to the Gigaton songs better!

Awesome photos. My friends didn't want to deal with the crowd, so I left them to get up as close as I could. Made it to the soundboard area. My friends didn't even try to make it down on the beach. They said they couldn't even see the screen from where they were.
Since I was right next to the soundboard, after the show I asked one of the guys in there if there were any extra set lists floating around. He told me they were all on their phones now. He showed me a photo of it on his phone and said if I gave him my number he would text it to me. I politely declined. I don't really need a photo of a set list. I guess that is how it works these days. He said the only written set lists were on the stage.

Another unintended consequence of Covid. Contactless set lists.
