I assume it's better to fly into LAX rather than S.D. for this?  Or one in the same?
Best option would be John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana ..airport code is SNA. Southwest goes from Midway to there (I'm connecting thru Midway to SNA in August)
Small easy to navigate airport and closest to the festival.
    This weekend we rock Portland

So… does the “ Pearl Jam's only additional concerts for 2021” line in the email mean that the Apollo show is a no go for this year?

I'd imagine that gets rescheduled right around the rescheduled MSG show, which that email says is for early 2022
  • I'll check ABNB but I was trying to fly in and out of San Diego to visit some friends. Side note, I'm about to book a car through Turo for my first time. Prices are half of what the rental car companies are charging. Plus SNA is almost double the price to fly in and out of for me than LAX or San Diego.

There were some postings from people saying they heard it would be this fall, before SHN.  I’m guessing the email rules it out for this fall.

DoubleTree is booked (no surprise).  Next closest I found is Hampton Inn Mission Viejo ~5 miles north so I booked it.  Not worried about being 5 miles away, but I'm guessing Uber, Lyft, etc. is going to be a nightmare to get to and from.

Oh my lord rental car prices
I just rented an AirBNB a mile from the festival for $185/night.

Just gonna Uber it from the airport and walk to the show.

Not a bad play at all.

My prediction is the hype around an Encore is teasing of a streaming event BEFORE this year's festival, showing performances from previous festivals.
Holy crap was I wrong! Did not see this coming AT ALL!

You struck gold.  I'm looking at ditching this hotel 5 miles away for a closer AirBNB, but coming up empty within a close distance of the show.  Everything is $300+ or the cheaper options are for a "private room."  Not interested in shacking up in a room in some random person's house, so that option is out.  Will keep checking.

I know Vedpunk was hinting at Seattle. But maybe these extra 2 Ohana shows were what he was hearing and it just wasn’t 100% clear from his source? Because I think he mentioned only a “few” shows in October. And these extra 2 are indeed in October. Just not in Seattle.

8 California shows in the span of 6 months? Crazy if it happens especially since they have skipped the state since 2013.

My source just doubled down on the Seattle shows but we’ll see. My guess is they will focus on selling out the encore shows first and make sure COVID is in check before making this announcement.

Seattle shows this year or added to the spring make up dates? Given the wording of the email about Ohana, it would be quite the reversal to add shows for this year.

Reversal would be a kind characterization.  Let's hope they wouldn't say it at all if there were even a chance for any other additional 2021 shows.

I hope you’re right, but that’s a pretty strong statement coming directly from the band about these being the only remaining 2021 shows.  Hard to see them saying that and then being like “haha surprise Seattle“

Would I go?  Hell yeah give me 24 hours notice I’m there.  I just don’t think they would say that in the email If it wasn’t true.
