I really don't understand your take on this. He consistently speaks to the press without prepared remarks, answers political and global questions with ease and clarity....I just don't get it. I'm not even comparing him to Trump here. Just on his own, I think he does really well. 

I’m talking about seeing him and listening to him from his recent visit to Cincinnati. Saw a lot on the news. All presidents age (except trump cause he didn’t work or care)…and it’s showing pretty bad. Dude is freakin 79… I’m surprised people don’t think he looks old and has had some change in just 1 year.

I don't see it, but I didn't see his recent visit. the last thing I saw was the White House Correspondents Dinner. 

I think that’s where he said he’s the first senator in Delaware. He obviously means he’s the first senator from Delaware to become president. Not a big deal.

yeah, he makes flubs here and there. the guy even mocks himself for this. he's not a great speaker. he knows it. but that doesn't make him senile, like many R's try to make him out to be. 

Yeah, I don't think it's fair to assume people are senile at 70 or even 80 plus years of age.  For example, last night, I put on Willie Nelson's album, Ride Me Back Home. I said to my wife, "Isn't it great that Willie still sounds so good and writes songs that great for a guy his age?"  She asked how old he was when he made that album.  I check and told her, "He was 86."  And he's still making records.

Well, of course some people turn senile by the age of 79, but there is no reason to assume that to be the case.  And in my own opinion, Biden is doing just fine at 79.  I'll take him over Trump at any age.  Or George W. Bush, for that matter.

I'm not even talking about being senile...the man walks different, talks even more different....he is slowing down.  The year as president has been hard on his body.  It always is.  And when you are 78 when you start that job, I think it's effects are quicker.

I wouldn't employ half the senate nor the SCOTUS in any position. They lack objective reasoning and lie about their intentions. Who wants people like that working for them. Funny thing is that the majority of them would have retired 10 years ago if they had any semblance of a regular person's job, but they love the power and get to keep fucking up the rest of our lives. Biden's background and achievements (regardless of what anyone thinks of his voting/stances) tells me he understands the value of work and had to actually to work to get anywhere. Trump? LOL. This doesn't mean birthright billionaires cannot have good work ethics, but he seems particularly put off at the idea of doing anything he doesn't want to do. I don't think he would really be able to take direction from anyone. I think he'd be the poutiest employee you'd ever hire.

I just don't see Trump doing hard work.  Probably his minions.  But the bottom line for me is this:  The work he has done has been detrimental to society and a threat to democracy.  I have no respect whatsoever for anything he has "accomplished".

The economist Lisa Cook was confirmed Tuesday as the first Black woman on the Federal Reserve Board in a historic moment for the central bank as it tries to stabilize a recovery that serves all Americans.
Cook’s confirmation came in a 50-50 in the Senatem with Vice President Harris issuing the tie-breaking vote. No Republicans voted for Cook, and Democrats, who hold a razor-thin majority, had delayed moving forward on her nomination until they could assemble all 50 of their members to vote for her.

Cook is among the country’s preeminent economists and teaches at Michigan State University. Her research has focused on macroeconomics, economic history, international finance and innovation, particularly on how hate-related violence has harmed U.S. economic growth. Her work has analyzed how patent records show that the riots, lynchings and Jim Crow laws that targeted African American communities in the late 1800s and early 1900s hurt Black people’s ability to pursue inventions and discoveries at the time.
“If there is something that impedes the rate of arrival of ideas, you’re going to slow down the economy. It’s not just for that period. And it’s not just for Black people. This is a cautionary tale for all economies,” Cook said on the Planet Money podcast in 2020.
Cook also worked on the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers during the Obama administration and has held visiting appointments at the National Bureau of Economic Research; the University of Michigan; and the Federal Reserve Banks of New York, Chicago, Minneapolis and Philadelphia.
