    Like I said, when people start getting paid to tear up old roads, grade new ones and dig up pipes with minimal waste spending I will be happy.  That's what is promised in this bill right?  I don't think that is a large ask before I decide to be happy with the bill.

    My 2 cents. For the previous guy, infrastructure week was just another hustle.
    For Joe, it was a goal.
    We sure do need repairs to our infrastructure. My hope is that we have honest oversight because so many processes have become so corrupted over many years. It won't happen quickly but it has to be a goal.

    Hustle indeed, I don't think the prior administration ever wanted to pass an infrastructure bill, that would suggest the federal government is working.

    This is disingenuous.  While it is a great hot take on owning Trump, we have yet to see how the money will be spent, if it will be wasteful and if it will deliver as advertised.  Sure the bill outlines how the money will be spent, but seeing is believing.  Joe did sign an infrastructure bill in 10 months and I won't criticize that progress, but infrastructure is far from "done".
    Nothing I said is "disingenuous." If you think I implied that roads and bridges were already fixed, I just don't know what to tell you. 

    This is part of the problem with the dem base. They expect change to happen overnight. That is not the way things work...especially for a bill like this that will take years for people to actually see the results. Getting this bipartisan bill done is a HUGE accomplishment. 


    Not sure where I said that I expected new roads and bridges to instantaneously materialize, maybe you can enlighten me?   As far as celebrating the signing of a bill, sorry that's not for me.  We have no proof yet that this doesn't become a wasteful spending bill vs a bill that delivers results.  It could still go either way once the funds start getting disbursed. I'm cautiously hopeful.  If we don't see any progress besides money being spent it will play into the "Democrats just want to spend your money" narrative.  Celebrating this is like slow walking to the endzone and getting creamed before the touchdown.  When asphalt  and steel columns, beams, rails, new electrical grids start getting put down I will be celebrating just as much as the next guy.  

    I signed the infrastructure bill doesn't get votes if people don't see the work getting done.  I know for some Yellow Dogs on here the he's not Trump or whatever is enough, but for most people spending that kind of money and not seeing results is a big deal.  In 2-3 years when there is proof that this money is going to infrastructure I will celebrate and say Biden got it done.

    Like I said, when people start getting paid to tear up old roads, grade new ones and dig up pipes with minimal waste spending I will be happy.  That's what is promised in this bill right?  I don't think that is a large ask before I decide to be happy with the bill.
    Damn those fools in the 60's for celebrating the Civil Rights Act before bathrooms were actually physically desegregated.

    Civil rights bill became law immediately.  Infrastructure is a spending package, hardly the same thing.
    That thing Biden did yesterday with his pen, where he wrote his name....that made his infrastructure bill into a law. It's literally a law now. 
    Yes and it is clearly as significant as the civil rights bill was as soon as it was signed.  Get back to me when the John Lewis Voting Rights Act is signed and I promise I will be celebrating more than you, well before the ink dries.
