@demetrios, if it's possible to get PM'd a link, I'd appreciate it so much! (If not, I'll understand, of course). Thank you either way for all you do for us!

I remember quite a few people being very negative about the idea of EV doing Stern. We would have missed out on the best interview ever.
I was skeptical that he WOULD do it, as I didn't think he would want to open up or be put on the spot about certain things (I also think there were probably some ground rules ahead of time... while they touched on Cornell's passing, Eddie didn't get too deep into it, or his relationship with him, which I don't think was an accident).
If I had to guess, I would think those who were negative about the idea were probably hung up on their impression of Howard Stern from the 90s who used to fling bologna at women's asses... the guy has come a long way as an interviewer, and it definitely isn't the same show it was 25 years ago.
Hats off to Vedder for going through with that. I always thought a Stern interview was probably off the table because that is waaaaay out of Mr. Vedder's comfort zone (at least as far as I know of him which is probably very little)...
As I have mentioned though, while I dumped Sirius almost 10 years ago, I thought some sort of Vedder/Stern thing was inevitable. Stern actually made fun of Pearl Jam a looong time ago I remember, but I recall him getting exposed to them a few times in the mid-late 00s, notably to me at a Who tribute show and he remarked how Pearl Jam killed it. Any Who fan who sees PJ covering it must be blown away. There was a David Lynch meditiation thing... I felt like they rubbed elbows at a few benefits and causes... For the wild portrayal, Howard Stern is an extremely grounded person. One of my favorite stories was how Stern went to some huge celebrity party and he spent it in the basement with Rob Zombie watching episodes of The Munsters.

I was actually surprised he went into CC's death as much as he did. Or the way it happened. How angry he was and his thoughts about suicide. And Howard talking about how he really didn't believe it and Ed saying he (Howard) is in more denial them him.
I was kind of surprised at the fact that they had only seen each other 4-5 times over the past 10 years. I know things happen and time goes by, but that was surprising. But then remembering everything that came out afterwards, maybe it wasn't. Ugh, just a terrible situation all the way around.
Sounds like they talked for another hour on the phone after the interview, per Howard
Yeah, Howard said he called Ed to thank him after the interview and said they talked for another hour on the phone. Wouldn’t elaborate on what they talked about.

You can tell Stern prepared for this.
Howard went on territory that no one else has ever done before.
Also to Howard’s brilliance, EV is not the greatest interviewer. He rambles a lot but stern handled it perfectly.

My Sirius sub does not include Howard.
Thanks in advance
