seems some folks are protesting outside some of the justices' homes.
good.
Remember the Supreme Court ruled a 35 foot “buffer zone” around abortion clinics to be unconstitutional. The entire purpose of that law was to create space between protesters and people entering the clinic for services.
Anyone who says people don’t have the right to stand on a sidewalk outside a Supreme Court justices house is a hypocrite.
plus those protests are way less aggressive than the ones outside pretty much any planned parenthood
can’t have it both ways. Especially since the Supreme Court put up fencing to create their own buffer zone to keep protesters farther away. But I guess that’s ok?
shouldn't a private residence be considered differently than a business?
no.
for private citizens maybe. but private citizens are not holding a public office where they are stripping rights away from half of the population.
these 5 justices deserve to be protested at home. they deserve to feel uncomfortable wherever they go. especially since the legal grounds for overturning it are not even based on sound legal reasoning.

I think your home is off limits. shame them in public or at work or whatever....fine. But your home? big fat NOPE.
i respectfully disagree. they are purposely inflicting pain on women. they live in affluent neighborhoods. they can either make due and deal with some people voicing their anger at home, or they can go stay in a hotel for a week. in my opinion, dealing with some people out in front of their house is a tiny, tiny price to pay for making women carry the child of their their rapist. having a few hundred people in front of their house pales in comparison to the lifelong pain inflicted on those women.

How about the threats, stalking and intimidation of the Flo Rida school committee member who dared to oppose Gubner Deathsantis and his opposition to CRT (or was it LGBT issues, sex ed, or book banning)? Protests at her home, leaving bullets in her driveway, following her to the supermarket and daycare, verbalizing overt threats to her safety, etc. Oh, those poor, poor SCOTUS's, I feel so, so bad. And poor Fucker Carlson having to view The Bird. I hope he went to confessional after.

I find it odd that as soon as someone is rich they should be subject to harassment because they can "afford to deal with it". that to me is a very odd take.
going down the road where a judge feels intimidated to make a ruling/not make a ruling is a very dangerous path.
if republicans were harassing liberal judges about to make a ruling on 2A, I feel like you and Halifax would have a VERY different opinion on this.
all i am saying is they can deal with feeling uncomfortable for a bit.
if you cannot control what happens within your own body, what can you control?
i forgot to say, if you had control over your body last week, and somehow all of the sudden next week you don't, what the fuck do these 5 "justices" expect to happen?

but that's not what is happening here exactly. they aren't making it illegal. they are repealing the protection. Sure, we know what that eventually means in a lot of states, but you are misrepresenting what is happening here. And it hasn't even happened yet.
The right has created a cottage industry of political violence, resulting in death, intimidation and harassment for those that oppose their views and legislation. Rushbo amplified it, abortion providers and folks who worked at clinics have been murdered and Deathsantis and Abbott & Costello have legalized aspects of it, whether it be for abortion or voting. So excuse the fuck out of me if the left exercises their freedom of speech in front of SCOTUS homes on “public” property.

Do you think the right would show up to peacefully exercise their freedom of speech? Are you trying to same-same this?
I know, one side is worse so the other side can do what they want as long as it's not AS bad.
One is a constitutionally protected freedom and the other is violence, state sanctioned in some instances and/or fomented and promoted by one side. Good fucking lord.
Did anyone see Biden’s statement on the anti-abortion headquarter arson? Anyone remember POOTWH’s comments about those who opposed or heckled him or comments to the police about roughing people up? Did anyone see Esper’s allegations about POOTWH asking if they could just shoot protesters in the legs? Hey ho, both sides are the same.
show me where I said they were the same. Show me where I even implied something as ridiculous as that. I didn't.
protesting in front of someone's home is wrong. murder is way more wrong.
does that clear it up?
Why is it “wrong?” Because you disagree with it? It’s constitutionally protected. Are you for selective application of constitutionally protected rights?
Hey everybody, don’t speak up or out until your rights are really taken away. In fact, just wait until it’s happened and you have something to bitch about, okay?

no one is saying don't speak up. I'm saying don't excuse harassment because it's your team.
I know, one side is worse so the other side can do what they want as long as it's not AS bad.
“The other side can do what they want as long as it’s not AS bad.”
What were you implying by this? There is no comparison.
you're the only one comparing. we've been down this road before.
Kid A steals a pack of gum. Kid A gets caught. Kid B assaults a teacher. Kid B gets caught. Kid A's defense is that Kid A is worse.
In your world, Kid A gets off Scott free because Kid B did worse. In my world, they both get punished, but to obviously different degrees.
Last time I checked, peaceful protest and exercising freedom of speech wasn’t a crime, regardless of whose house or business or public property it occurs on. You brought up “one side” and the “other side not as bad,” not me.

I'm not saying they should be prosecuted, lol. I'm saying I don't think it's ethical.

no. the right shows up with guns. see michigan state house protests from a few years ago.

I'm even less a fan of judges who lie under oath during confirmation hearings and then get sworn into lifetime appointments.
