Has anyone purchased their own equipment (bands, weights, machinery) in lieu of going to the gym?
  • SpunkieSpunkie I come from downtown. Posts: 5,396
I use a stationary bike now instead of swimming. I'm writing a pathetic new song. Its called "I'm writing my bike to nowhere" and has a kind of "Thumbing my Way" vibe.

Have weights already.  Bought a jump rope.  Forgot that I used to like jumping rope.  Realized that I dislike jumping rope now.

My wife and I have an 1,100 square foot condo so not much room. I'm a 45-minute/day cardio fiend.  I've been pushing the limits of being out in bad weather...but it's getting real, now.  We bought a "desk treadmill" that actually functions alright (and we can fold it down and put it under the futon on the den). I'm not going to be training for any marathons on it (not that I would, anyway) but I can certainly get a moderate run or brisk walk going). I'll get bored waiting for winter to end, but I won't get totally out of shape.

All I can say is I’m thankful for my resistance bands! And my will ;)

I do miss the weight machines at our gym but find them unnecessary now.

Walking is easy enough, too. Good for the body and morale.

This scene keeps up my morale! Glad you're getting out for walks, too.
