    Hope you feel better!

I fucked up this am and brought some Gatorade with me since I was going for 80 mins (generally I need some liquid and/or food for runs beyond an hour) and I didn't run anywhere near a toilet. . My body revolted and I ended up about a mile shorter in my 80 mins than planned since I had to walk and lightly jog for stretches where I was concerned I might crap myself.
Need to get used to taking food and drink in again....and do some work where I know I can use the restroom if needed.
Oh well - a good reminder!

Yikes. That hasn’t happened to me yet. My runs are usually only about an hour and I make sure to pee right before I leave. The park I run in has a restroom. Haven’t had to use it yet. NYC public park restrooms are not the finest. But I do pass a lot of restaurants on my way home. I guess if things ever got really bad I could beg to use one of those.

Yeah I've used the Dunkin bathroom before and porto potties by the school that are very well maintained....but it was not pee...being a dude, I could've snuck that in anywhere, or even let it fly if needed.  The deuce cannot really roll like that.
   .

It is just settling on a cadence and routine and sticking to it.

Getting back into running. Went for about a mile jog today & it felt great. Going to build up slowly to 5 miles per jog/run.

Excellent. Good to start slow if you haven’t run in a while. I am sure you will get to 5 miles on no time.

So finally this coming weekend it begins! For my long runs I will be adopting the run/walk strategy that we will use on race day, it worked perfect getting us around the 100k in good time and we're sticking with it for this.

First long run is 10 miles which will take just under 2 hours this way but the Idea is consistency and hopefully getting a long way into the 100 miles on race day before we start to struggle.

Longest training run at peak will be 30 miles and this will be backed up with a 2nd long run of 18 miles.

In July were doing our own over night 50 miler in the middle of the training block to try to nail down nutrition and crewing tactics etc.

Gonna be a busy few months! And I'm afraid you'll all be bored of hearing about it 😂😴

My wife likes it, she thinks that if she listens to me babble for 15 minutes about something she finds boring that I will gladly do the same for her.

She should know better by now!

First 3 of 600 training miles over the next 16 weeks or so

My shortest run in months but I'm super pumped to get started.

Been running in fresh foam 1080v10, will be getting some v11 soon. And also tried out the fresh foam more V2... Reeeaaaally cushioned which I might appreciate being out hours in end.

Hope everyone's having a good week so far 🤙

So far, so good.  Cold yesterday, hot today.

3/600.  Looks like such a gap but you will make it up quickly, especially when you get to those long runs.
Are you training together, or only on the long runs?

Fresh Foam More V2 is a shoe?

I really do like the v11s I got...as much as I liked my Brooks, these are more comfortable.  Going to order another pair before too long...but if the more v2 is suggested, perhaps will look at that.

I believe there's a V3 out now too. They don't seem to be as well stocked as the 1080s. My only concern is I have heard the outer sole wears a little quicker. As alot of my miles will be on grass and river trails it shouldn't be an issue.

Cold then hot seems to be a recurring theme for everyone at the moment!

Good info - pretty much all of my miles are on hard surfaces so that would be a concern....

Wow. Good luck with with the training. I am looking forward to hearing about your progress. Today I snuck in 4.5 miles right before I went to get my 2nd Covid vaccine. I can’t predict how I will feel over the next few days so thought I should at least get one run in before. The weather was also amazing.

The 1080s have a blown rubber sole which seems pretty durable.. the more's are something called EVA (or something similar) I'll keep you updated on how they last. Very comfy shoe though

My back to back for the weekend. Really need to get the longer runs down to around 12min pace (5 miles every hour) will take some getting used to the walk/run thing.

Nice I like the back to back.
Your average time this am was a bit faster than my fastest mile this morning.  Lol.  I am sure it is tough to slow down when you know you can run at that speed!

Cooling down from my morning session.
90 mins running was a goal the PT set for me when he let me start running again and this was the first day I did it.  Right on schedule, which feels good.  (My muscles do not feel good but that is what builds us back up!)

Now I believe I can start looking at this as being "healed" and what my training structure can look like for the rest of the year.
