Finished both and evaded any lasting injuries.
Half on Saturday,  easy peasy.  Didn't stay in Zone 2 as I wanted, that is too tough....but did stay in 2 and 3 mostly until the last mile and a half, when I floored it and passed mofos like i was actually a good runner.  Lol.
Had some significant calf soreness during it, though.

Today's full marathon was ugly.  I was ok until mile 17.  My body quit.  I made it through 19 without slowing down too much but was at a crawl from 20 on home.  Finished almost an hour off my pace from last years marathon, when I was hurt.
    Oh well - mission accomplished.

Changed how I was running after having the calf soreness and focused on shorter strides and middle plants.  Worked for that part....by the time my calfs went, my feet, ankle, knees, and back all were screaming.  Lol.

    In the books!

Unreal. I can’t believe you did both in the same weekend. Time to rest and celebrate. That is awesome!!

That hurt as much as anything yesterday, for the first few minutes.
Waited a while after the third bucket of ice went in....chunks were not melting down, which meant it was good and cold.  ;)

    The Bloody Long Walk

    Did you do it?

That photo brings back great memories of when I travelled with my brother, early morning runs from our accommodation through the parks to the opera house
I'm so glad you have great memories of it. I was limited to do things with my daughter who suffered jet lag. I definitely have an appreciation for the band and crew while traveling through different times on this last leg!
I was swimming in the Great Barrier Reef

Have fun tomorrow. That is great that your son is becoming a runner as well. I had a really crappy run today. I just wasn’t feeling it. I stopped two times ready to call it a day. But ended up forcing myself to finish what I started.

Jeff’s Gear | Engie Stadium, Sydney

As the last minutes of the last show quickly slipped by, I found myself wanting to capture everything I hadn’t yet, not knowing if we’d ever get to do all this again. I saw Jeff’s hat and sneakers sitting here and it wasn’t something I could resist. These personal items just waiting for their owner to come take them away to where we all go when we leave, back to our lives.

  • Got out to run a 21k visiting my hometown. My brother texted me after 6k and wanted to meet for a coffee. Turned back so only got a 12k.

I hope you all had a good Christmas.

Enjoying some time off work over Christmas and ramping up the training again ready for 2025.

    Any races planned for 2025?

Been zero snow here in the "soth". Last year I think it was snow on Christmas. This year just rain.
