Filling out my calendar for 2025 this week. Need to determine what the big event/focus will be but I know I want to work on getting faster 5k time. In Vermont this week, lots of snow, 5 degrees out right now. May be some inside running while here.
I hope everyone is finishing their year strong, and has or will hit all their goals. My mileage dipped this year due to a knee injury, but I’m ramping back up now. Stay fast out there.
Heck yes, will be sure to hit this before the race.
Stepped on an ice ball, rolled my ankle, and crashed into a bush, yesterday at 530AM, in 8 degree weather.
Fuck running in snow and ice.
Limped for a while, ran a bit, and limped again. Was at an even until 10pm, walking much of the time. Goddammit! Lol.
Should be OK in a few days. Wear a brace but have fucked my ankle so many times that a brace even doesn't stop it.
Be careful out there. It is slippery. Hope the ankle heals up soon. I have had a bit of heel pain when I start my run. Then it goes away. It’s happened twice. Luckily, it is mild. But I don’t know what brought it on.

No. I haven’t had that before. It doesn’t hurt any other time. It only hurts for a few minutes when I start running and then goes away for the rest of the run. I will keep an eye on it. Hopefully, it just goes away.

Huh. Hope you can work through it soon.
Went out for half the run I wanted to take this morning. Feel OK and should be ready to resume next week as normal.
me and my daughter went to the national running show today, and bumped into ultra running legend Scott Jurek and the only female to ever complete the Barkley marathons, the incredible Jasmin Paris. Amongst others, we had a great day!
It was roughly a mile of a 3.2 mile loop, and it was just a case of trudging through it best we could and making up some time on the back half of the loop, it was fun/funny at first but after 9 loops I'd had enough. I had time for 1 more loop but couldn't face it 😂 happy with 30 miles taking into account some big efforts I have coming up this year
Getting to like the Half Marathon distance? Good work!
Trying to run it every month to get used to it for this years "Göteborgsvarvet", half marathon here in Gothenburg in May (55.000 runners). Problem is, I don't get that much more running done nowadays. Will try to start it up again with the weather being a bit better now.

Nice. To run a strong half you don't necessarily need to practice at that distance, you can run lots of 10 miles (16k) and still be getting your body ready. Can take 30 mins off your routines time requirements.

Great stuff mate, nothing better than spotting some wildlife while out running. Especially in England as none of it can kill me, just deer and squirrels 😁

A 6 hour looped event in Feb
A 40 mile trail race in may
A 24 hour looped event in June
And a 100 mile race in october
2024: Wrigley II, Fenway II
This June I have a charity spot at a 24 hour looped event, the same race I 'failed' to complete in 2023 during the heatwave!
I'm hoping for 100 miles but really just to complete the 24 hours.
I am raising money for young lives against cancer and have just set up my page.
If anyone happens to have any spare pennies between now and June I would be ever so grateful.
